Veteran actress, Mumtaz never failed to impress the audience with her acting talent and beauty, as she was one of the leading actresses of her time. During her younger days, Mumtaz would often hit the headlines for her personal life, and over the years, her name was linked to many actors, including Rajesh Khanna, Shammi Kapoor, Feroz Khan and many others. However, her unending love for Shammi Kapoor was the most talked-about.
Recently, Mumtaz made her first-ever television appearance on the singing reality show, Indian Idol 13, and a promo video from the same was shared by Sony Entertainment Television on their official Instagram handle. In the video, Mumtaz can be seen gracing the show with actor, Dharmendra, and the duo made the audience nostalgic. Mumtaz danced to the song, Jai Jai Shiv Shankar from the 1974 film, Aap Ki Kasam, which starred her along with Rajesh Khanna. She also shook a leg to the song, Aaj Kal Tere Mere Pyar Ke Charche, from the film, Brahmachari, which featured Mumtaz and Shammi Kapoor.

Watching Mumtaz dancing happily on the stage was a delight, and after her performance, the show's host, Aditya Narayan said, "What a jodi, Mumtaz ji and Shammi ji". After which, Mumtaz opened up about how she responded when late actor, Shammi Kapoor proposed to her for marriage in the 1960s and said that she didn't want to marry, as she was just 17 years old. In her words:
"Unhone straightforward kaha tha, 'I want to marry you'. Main 17 saal ki thi. Mujhe shaadi nahi karna tha isliye shaadi nahi ki. But I do miss him sometimes."
In one of the segments of the video, Mumtaz also mentioned that people used to ask her whom she would marry and shared that she would say she would tie the knot with the son of the Shah of Iran. The veteran actress also talked about her first scene with late actor, Dilip Kumar, and said:
"Aap puchte the Mumtaz kisse shaadi karegi, main bolti thi Shah of Iran k bete se. Dilip saab ko jaake mara, woh mera first shot tha unke saath.”
Earlier, in an interview with The Times Of India, Mumtaz talked about Shammi Kapoor's reaction when she refused to marry him. Talking about the same, she shared that he had started to doubt her as he thought that she didn’t want to marry him because she wanted to be a heroine. Mumtaz had also revealed that despite her endless love for Shammi Kapoor, the latter used to think that she was never in love with him.

Veteran actress, Mumtaz ruled the Hindi film industry in the 1960s and 70s, and she set the screens on fire during her entire tenure in Bollywood. Luckily, she had become a sensation soon after making her debut with the film, Sone Ki Chidiya. Over the years, Mumtaz has given some iconic films in her glorious career, like Do Raaste, Bandhan, Aadmi Aur Insaan, Nagin, Loafer and many others.
For the unversed, Mumtaz had tied to knot with businessman, Mayur Madhvani in 1974. Once in an interview with Pinkvilla, Mumtaz was asked about the rumours about her hubby, Mayur being involved with another woman. To which, the actress said that she respects her husband as he himself had told her about his alleged affair. She added that she was a little stubborn back then, but now she has forgotten all about it. Mentioning that Mayur confided that he had developed a liking for a girl in the US, Mumtaz revealed that her husband never kept her wanting for anything.
