On January 4, 2023, one of the Reddit users shared a series of pictures from Janhvi Kapoor's 2023 photoshoot for Elle Magazine. In the pictures, she was seen donning shimmery gowns paired with glowy makeup. For one of her looks, she donned a golden-hued one-shoulder dress which also featured a thigh high slit. Alongside it, she opted for a neatly combed, extremely long braided hairdo and diamond statement earrings. A highlighted foundation base, glittery eyeshadow, winged eyes, and glossy lips completed her look.

Janhvi also wore a silver-hued shimmery gown which featured a thigh high slit paired with a dainty neckpiece. And for her third look, Janhvi looked gorgeous in a silver sequinned gown which was attached with a long trail. Finally, for her last look, she opted for a messy bun hairdo and diamond earrings.

As soon as Janhvi's pictures surfaced on the internet, netizens called Janhvi's expression during her photoshoot "boring". Moreover, some claimed that though her films are of serious nature and mostly crime-thrillers, what is the need for her stylist to show her "sexy" in almost all her photoshoots. The list doesn't end here, some netizens mentioned that Janhvi is over-burdened with the pressure of being the late legendary actress, Sridevi's daughter. Whereas, she should be given the freedom to express herself.
