And cricket legend, Mahendra Singh Dhoni felt the same rush of adrenaline when he fell in love with Sakshi Singh. The duo has stayed away from the world of glam and glitz, but they keep on giving us relationship goals with their true love. For those who think our captain cool’s charm instantly worked on gorgeous Sakshi, then you are wrong! It took Dhoni a lot of effort and hard work to woo Sakshi and make her fall for him. While many girls were crushing on MS Dhoni, he had already fallen in love with Sakshi and had successfully kept his relationship away from the media glare until they exchanged wedding vows on July 4, 2010, in the presence of their family.
Sakshi and Dhoni often give us inspiration with their adorable social media PDA. Today, on December 4, 2019, we came across a cute video posted by one of their mutual friends, Preeti Simoes on Instagram. Alongside it, she wrote, "WARNING: PLS WATCH AT YOUR OWN RISK... The very talented Mr Mahi. @mahi7781 please don't kill me for posting this one! But this awaaz had to be shared! @sakshisingh_r yours coming soon!" Coming back to their love story, MS Dhoni and Sakshi both hail from Ranchi and were in the same school and their fathers were working for the same company. And before Cupid could do his work, Sakshi's family got shifted to Dehradun. But as we say true love knows how to find its way and that's what happened. They met again after a decade in Kolkata at Taj Bengal (where Sakshi was doing her internship), during Team India's stay in November-December, 2007. Rest as we say, is history! However, Dhoni's priorities are straight. We still remember how in an interview with the Wisden magazine, Dhoni had shared that Sakshi holds the third place in his life. He had said, "I love my country. I tell my wife she is only the third most important thing after my country and my parents, in that order. The point is that while I am an Indian cricketer I will devote myself to that cause. Cricket is not everything, not by any means, but it is a large part of who I am. Therefore, I want to play in all formats of the game and to play as much as possible because before long it will be over. Then I’ll focus more on the Army!"
He had further added, "Sakshi provides the spark I might sometimes need. Jokes aside, she is the person to whom I have a reference. She is both loving and inspirational. Sometimes she travels with me, but cricket is easier without having to ensure her safe passage. One day, we will see the sights together and she says that then, can she please move to number two on the list of my priorities! But for the moment I am here to play cricket.
