Mona Singh had tied the knot with her ‘Mr Perfect’, Shyam Rajagopalan on December 27, 2019 in an intimate ceremony. She had shared the first picture from her wedding on her IG handle and it had looked dreamy. She had captioned the picture as “Love laughter and a happily ever after.” The gorgeous actress celebrated her first Karwa Chauth post wedding with hubby, Shyam.
On November 5, 2020, Mona Singh took to her IG handle and shared stunning pictures from the celebrations. She looked beautiful in a cream-coloured embroidered saree with red border. Mona accentuated her look with mehendi, golden jhumkas, red bindi and sindoor. Her hubby, Shyam complemented her in a navy-blue coloured kurta. She looked at her hubby with the chalani at moonrise observing the ritual of Karwa Chauth. Along with the pictures, Mona wrote, “Love is ...the Ultimate gift #1stkarwachauth #2020 #love #ourfirst #blessed.”
In a conversation with Pinkvilla, Mona Singh had shared how she had gone out with her friends to get mehendi applied on her hands. She had shared, “Yes this is my first karwa chauth, yesterday I went to put mehendi with a few friends of mine, full excitement happening at home.” She had further shared her plans for the day and had revealed that her husband, Shyam made sargi for her and is fasting for her health and happiness. She said, “My in laws are not here but my mother in law made sure my husband gives me sargi in the morning. We woke up at 4 and ate whatever we could at that time. My husband is also fasting with me which I find is very sweet. We both are fasting for each other’s happiness and good health and love forever: in the evening I will do a little puja, all that I know because my mum has never kept karwa chauth hence i don’t know munch about the rituals. Earlier, in an interview with Pinkvilla, Mona had revealed the details on how her husband, Shyam had popped the question of marriage to her. The actress had said, "He proposed to me in October just before my birthday. I was so surprised by the entire episode of the proposal. I was in his car and he popped out the ring in the middle of the road. He just asked me out of the blue if I would marry him and put the ring in my hand. I was like, 'arey, at least, let me reply yes or no'. Everyone on the road was giving us gaalis."
Mona had also recalled how she had met her husband, Shyam and had shared, "I have known him for the last 5 years. I met him through a friend at a friend's birthday party and we hit it off. He is a very funny man that was a big tick for me. I like people with a good sense of humour. What I like about him is that he lets me be. He doesn't want to change a single thing about me. I can be very annoying at times, but he is very cool. I like him. He respects me; I respect him. We give each other space."
