The love story of Mohit Suri and Udita Goswami is as real as it can get. They met, fell in love and after working through the hardships, they finally found their happy ending. Read their beautiful love tale with us.
Udita Goswami hails from Assam. She belongs to Assam’s former Prime Minister, Tulsi Giri’s family. She started modelling when she was in high school. Her mother got her enrolled in the School of Arts and Fashion Technology (SAF), Dehradun and that gave her the confidence to try her luck in Bollywood. She moved to the big city and soon landed on her first lead role in the movie, Zeher. Since it was a part of destiny’s plan, Zeher was the debut of Mohit Suri. It was his first stint as a director. Udita and Mohit felt that instant connection. Soon, they became friends and rest, as they say, is history! And a happy one!
Udita and Mohit started dating in 2005 and got married in 2013. This long courtship period gave this lovely couple a lot of highs and a few lows as well. The initial years were blissful for them. 2008 and 2009 were, however, not that great. The couple was in an on and off relationship for a year following some differences but the power of love never let them fade away from each other’s life. The couple was back together in 2010 and it was speculated that post the release of the movie, Crook, Mohit and Udita will tie the knot. Although it did not happen in 2010, their fans were happy to see them back together. Talking to NDTV once, Mohit revealed about their long relationship and plans of getting married:
“Frankly, I am not into weddings. I have hardly attended any. Udita and I have been seeing one another for nine years. As far as I'm concerned, we are married to one another without the wedding.”
After years and years of waiting, Mohit and Udita’s wedding finally took place. January 29, 2013, was set as the date and the venue was ISKCON Temple, Juhu. The groom in his white sherwani and black bandhgala came to take his bride. Udita wore a beautiful red and golden lehenga for the D-day. Along with the friends and family of the couple, their wedding was attended by many stars from the tinsel town.
The couple’s wedding reception was full of glitter and glamour. The new Mrs wore an exquisite blue saree with a red blouse. The Assamese beauty was complemented by her husband, Mohit, who looked dapper in a black formal suit. In the interview with NDTV, Mohit very sweetly recalled about the decision of getting married:
“To me the day we decided to get married is more important than the wedding itself. That decision to take the plunge didn't come easily to me. I remember you asking me in the past why Udita and I weren't getting married? I guess it had to happen when both of us were in the proper frame of mind.”
One of the most important reasons as to why Mohit and Udita make a power couple is the fact that Udita is so caring about Mohit’s passion for making movies. In fact, even their wedding preparations were all done by Udita so that Mohit could finish the shooting of one of his films. About this, Mohit revealed:
“The fact is, Udita can tolerate me even after knowing me for nine years and if she still wants to get married to me it's in spite of knowing the kind of person that I am. She knows if I come to the wedding without completing the film, I'd be very depressed. She is, therefore, taking care of all the details of the wedding.”
After two years of being married to each other, Udita and Mohit got the chance to add more bliss to their relationship. In January 2015, they welcomed a little angel into their lives. They named their baby girl Devi Surion. The couple considers their daughter to be their lucky charm which is why they think that she is a goddess. Mohit once said about Udita:
“I don't come from a very conventional background. I've grown up on my own. I am not too conventional in thought or lifestyle. For someone to accept me the way I am, and to deal, live and bear me for nine years is no small achievements. I am lucky to have Udita. She knows how to handle me.”
Mohit Suri and Udita Goswami make a perfect couple and along with their daughter, they make a beautiful family. Mohit and Udita love to share their family photos with their fans and after seeing them, we can say that they are one of the happiest couples of Bollywood. We hope that they find nothing but happiness throughout their lives.
