“Who’s this stunner” - this was not only Shahid Kapoor’s reaction to his wife, Mira Rajput Kapoor’s on-screen debut but ours too! While we all recognised Mira as Shahid’s better-half, but with her new Olay commercial, she has proved that she is more than just a star wife. Mother of a one-and-a-half-year-old Misha and soon-to-be-mommy again, Mira shared her experience being a new mom, who gets so lost in the joys and responsibilities of motherhood that she doesn’t find time for herself. Mira unveiled her first ever TV commercial for Olay skincare products on her Instagram handle, and captioned it, “Being a mother doesn’t mean you stop being yourself right? I took the #Olay #SkinTransformation #28Daychallenge Here’s my #Reborn story.. what’s yours? @olayindia”. Mira is glowing in her black dress and high heels, radiating her pregnancy glow and flaunting her baby bump. Her lovestruck hubby, Shahid commented on her post, “Who’s this stunner”.
In the video, Mira talked about her pregnancy experience with her first-born, Misha Kapoor and shared, “Being a mother, it’s beautiful. I still remember holding Misha in my arms for the first time. It was magical. It brought Shahid and me even closer. I have always been a very hands-on mom, so you tend to forget yourself as a woman. The stress the sleepless nights, my pregnancy glow just vanished. My skin became dull and patchy. So, when Misha’s birthday was just a month away, I knew I had to do something." Mira Rajput Kapoor’s acting debut made her the new target of trolls. While some people claimed that she is too young to do an anti-ageing cream advertisement, others said she should have not copied Kareena Kapoor Khan. One Insta user commented, “@shahidkapoor wanted to marry a normal girl who had nothing to do with the industry lol he married a wannabe who only wants to use his name and get ads and make Money..IRONY”, another said, “@shahidkapoor paisa khilaake ad karwayaa aur khud hi stunned bhi hogaye Kya?!!”. In a throwback interview, Mira talked about being a proud stay-at-home mother to Misha and said, “I am a homemaker and I am proud of the label. I love being home. I had a difficult pregnancy and now I want to spend every moment I can with my daughter.” Mira went on to say, “I love being at home, I love being a mother to my child, I wouldn’t want to spend one hour a day with my child and rush off to work, why did I have her? She is not a puppy; I want to be there for her as a mother.” Referring to her quote, one Insta user wrote, “Did you leave your puppy, I mean your daughter back home to do this? In an earlier interview with Vogue, Mira shared how being a mom changed her life. She stated, “It’s made me value a lot of things that I took for granted. It’s made me value my mother, made me value my parents, it’s made me value my husband so much more, and I think it’s made me a much happier persona. It’s made me a much more wholesome person.”
She also shared pregnancy tips for soon-to-be-mommies, and was quoted as saying, “Number one is relax! Take it easy, be happy. If you’re happy, your baby is going to be happy. When you’re feeding your child, if you’re calm and happy, that goes to your child. Number two, I’d like to share from my personal experience, is if you can, and if it’s possible, breastfeed your child. I think it’s the biggest gift you can give your child, it’s the biggest blessing a mother receives, to pass on to her child, it’s an extremely fulfilling experience, it’s very gratifying. The bond that you have with your child is something that can’t be replaced. I made sure that I did it. Number three, be calm, yes, but definitely have fun!
