It didn’t take long for Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput Kapoor’s adorable pregnancy announcement to go viral on social media, the entire nation was 'awww-ing' over it in no time. And ever since then, from her sartorial choices to the healthy diet and pregnancy tips, Mira has been in the limelight for her pregnancy. Now, just a few weeks away from embracing parenthood again with their second child, Shahid and Mira are making best of their time with each other. While Shahid is busy in the promotions of his film, Batti Gul Meter Chalu, he makes sure to spend quality time with his family. He is also wrapping up his work to take a short paternity leave after the baby arrives.
On August 19, 2018, Shahid and Mira stepped out for their date night at Izumi - Ramen & Sushi, Bandra, Mumbai. Though the soon-to-be-second-time-parents, Shahid and Mira were clicked by the paparazzi, the latter had also shared some pictures from their dinner date on her official Instagram handle. While Shahid looked dapper in a black printed floral tee which he paired with blue jeans, Mira flaunted her baby bump in a simple black tank top which she paired with black jeans, a baby blue cardigan style top and black flats.
Don’t Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput Kapoor make for a perfect couple? In an exclusive interview with Times Now, mommy-to-be revealed who will name their second child. She stated, “We haven't decided the name of the baby yet. In fact, we are open to all suggestions. Misha’s name was Shahid's selection. So, this time, I might get to select the name.” She further added, “This time I already have a toddler around and keeping a balance between the one you have and the one that's on its way is very important. Everything changes and you don't want that the one who has been the apple of your eyes for so long and feels that she's the centre of your world to feel neglected and ignored. In fact, a source close to the couple informed a media portal that Shahid and Mira have already chosen names for their baby, one for a boy and one for a girl. The source was quoted as saying, “Shahid and Mira are very excited. Even though this is not the first time they are becoming parents, they have been feeling on top of the world. Having two kids was always their plan and they feel blessed that it is happening just how they wished it to be. The two have decided on a name as well – one for a male child and one for a female child. And just like Misha, the names they have chosen also start with M.”
Shahid and Mira are currently living in their sea-facing home in Juhu but will soon shift to their new abode in Worli. Speaking about the same, Shahid shared, “I have bought a new home in Central Mumbai. It will be a year-and-a-half, perhaps even two, before we do the interiors and move in there. However, it’s an investment that I needed to make. I have a much smaller home in Juhu and with two children (the second one arriving in September), the requirement of the family has changed.”
The Padmaavat actor reminisces the time when he was house-hunting for his bachelor pad, and recalled, “Earlier, when I was house-hunting, I would tell my estate agent that I want a place where there were few neighbours. I didn’t want anyone gawking at me. I wanted to go home quietly and not be waylaid by people.” But now that he has a family, he elaborated on his requirements, “The new home that Mira and I have booked has a garden and other amenities like a gymnasium, etc. Today, our requirement is having a safe place for Misha where she can play with others. We want her to be with kids of her age because that’s how she will have a regular childhood.”
And how his outlook changed after marriage and first child, Misha Kapoor, he remarked, “My outlook towards designing our house has changed. At my earlier pad in Andheri and the current one in Juhu, I broke down most of the walls and made it completely open. I liked the feeling of a home being intimate yet having a lot of open space within. The walls gave me a feeling of being constricted. So, I had converted my 3BHK Andheri home in such a way that I had a massive bedroom, a walk-in wardrobe and the works. I was a bachelor then and my views on the subject were diametrically opposite to what they are now. Today, I want my children to have their own rooms. Obviously, Mira and my requirement is having a bigger space where the two of us can spend time.
