From Mira soaking in the sun with windswept hair and sun-kissed selfie to Shahid binging on a large pizza, Shahid and Mira are making the most of their time on the streets savouring scrumptious food and clicking romantic candid photos. Sharing a photo from their vacation of two moreish ice-creams which she personifies it to their passionate kiss, and wrote along with it, “This is Us. #noticethekiss”.
Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput Kapoor had revealed on Koffee With Karan, how did everything worked out for the two of them and how they talked for 7 hours, “I had been single for 4 years and I didn’t find anyone around me who I thought I could marry... I was lonely when I used to go back home, and then few months later I was meeting Mira and it all worked out. We had nothing in common and we could talk for 7 seven hours, that’s excellent and it means something!” But do you know that this wasn’t the first time Shahid and Mira had met, and their relationship was not so out of the blue? In an Instagram interactive session with fans, Mira Rajput Kapoor revealed that she had met Shahid Kapoor for the first time when she was 16 years old. When a fan asked her, “What was it like meeting Shahid for the first time? Considering he is a star”, Mira had replied, “Just like meeting anyone for the first time. Interesting. It was actually when I was 16 and we were at a common family friends house for a concert by a sufi singer. Both our dad’s love that kind of music.”
During a Filmfare interview, Shahid Kapoor reminisced the lovely evening when he had met Mira Rajput Kapoor and was quoted as saying, “It was a lovely evening and light was falling on her face. She just turned towards me and smiled and said something. I was like she is so young but I like her, I thought if something is wrong with me.”
In an interview with Hello magazine, Shahid Kapoor had talked about their arranged marriage, “I didn’t find anybody I liked, so. I was single at age 28, 29, and I was single for four or five years, not finding anyone I liked enough to marry, to spend my life with. That was the only reason I thought of meeting someone in an arranged format. In my head I was like ‘OK, I think I met most people in this city and it hasn’t reached that point when one has gotten into a serious relationship and considered living a life together.’ So if I want to meet somebody new or from a different universe, how am I going to do that? I am an actor. I can’t just catch a flight and hope to bump into people. So when the idea was put to me… ‘would you be open to meeting a girl in this format,’ I was like ‘Ok, if this is the only format in which it is going to happen, why not?’ It’s nice to meet someone knowing that if this works out, this is marriage! Otherwise, there are so many stages that you go through, things are fragile in a busy world, and easily fall apart. Somehow, I kept experiencing this. Sometimes it’s an excuse, sometimes it’s a fundamental and strong reason for it to fall apart. The arranged marriage is simpler – sometimes you jump into the boat and then you figure it out.
