Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly sparked dating rumours back in 2020 when the Daily Mail published some lovey-dovey pictures of them grabbing takeout together in Calabasas. At the time, Megan was married to Brian. In the same month, May 2020, Brian confirmed that they had been on a break since December 2019. He said, "She said, 'I realized when I was out of the country working alone that I feel more like myself and I liked myself better during that experience and I think that might be something worth trying for me.'"
At the time, a source told E! Online, "Megan has been working on a movie with Machine Gun Kelly and gotten close to him. They are hooking up and have been for a little while. She is separated from Brian Austin Green, and they are taking time apart as a couple. She has something going on with Machine Gun Kelly that she is excited about." In June 2020, US Weekly reported that Megan and Machine were officially dating.
Later, in July 2020, Megan and Machine gave their first joint interview. During the conversation, Megan described Machine as her soulmate and explained how she got to know he was the one. In her words:
"I could feel that some wild shit was going to happen to me from that meeting, but I wasn't yet sure what. I just felt it like, deep in my soul—that something was going to come from that. I knew right away that he was what I call a twin flame. Instead of a soul mate, a twin flame is actually where a soul has ascended into a high enough level that it can be split into two different bodies at the same time. So we're actually two halves of the same soul, I think. And I said that to him almost immediately, because I felt it right away."
After dating for more than one year of dating, Megan and Machine got engaged on January 11, 2022. Taking to his Instagram handle, Machine wrote:
"Yes, in this life and every life, beneath the same branches we fell in love under, I brought her back to ask her to marry me. I know tradition is one ring, but I designed it with Stephen Webster to be two: the emerald (her birth stone) and the diamond (my birth stone) set on two magnetic bands of thorns that draw together as two halves of the same soul forming the obscure heart that is our love. 1-11-2022."
Later, in February 2023, the duo sparked breakup rumours. According to reports, Megan and Machine had been in an on-and-off relationship between 2023 and 2024. In 2024, a source told People that there had been many trust issues between the pair. The insider shared, "That intensity is still there nearly four years into their relationship, but that's not necessarily ‘healthy.’ There are still a ton of trust issues between them, and it’s very toxic...They can’t stay away from each other, and there’s a lot of history there, but they also don’t know how to be in a healthy relationship."

The couple called it quits in 2024. Reportedly, Megan Fox found some suspicious texts on Machine’s phone and went their separate ways. Although they had parted ways as a couple, the pair chose to co-parent their daughter.
