Max Verstappen’s girlfriend, Kelly Piquet is a Brazillian-Dutch model, who was born in 1988, in Germany, as per reports. She spent a major part of her life in France. Talking about her early life, her father is a three-time F1 champion, while her brother is also a popular Formula 1 driver. Over the years, she has often spoken about F1.
According to a report by People, Kelly did her studies from Marymount Manhattan College. She has a major in international relations. During her time in New York City, Kelly began modelling. She worked in the fashion industry, including being a stylist. Over the years, she has worked with brands like Pepe Jeans, PatBo and Louis Vuitton.
Coming to her Instagram handle, Kelly Piquet has a very strong social media presence. For those unaware, Max's girlfriend, Kelly has over 2.5 million followers on Instagram. Along with it, she has shared 812 posts and her bio says, "Never underestimate the power of Love. Mama to Penelope and Lily."
Max Verstappen and Kelly Piquet confirmed their relationship in 2021
As per a report by Us Weekly, Kelly and Max first crossed paths in 2016. They sat down to have dinner with Kelly's brother. However, the couple began dating after a few years in 2020. The next year, they went Instagram-official, through a cosy photo. Along with it, they captioned, "Let’s make 2021 a year to remember in many ways. Wishing you all success, love and happiness just as I found mine."
However, it is worth noting that Kelly and Max’s relationship have often grabbed attention for all the wrong reasons. It is their age gap that has often dominated the headlines. If reports are to be believed, as of 2026, Max is 28 years old, whereas his ladylove is 37 years old, making the model nine years older than the F1 champion. In 2022, Kelly spoke about their relationship and was quoted as saying:
"I think we have a very healthy relationship, easygoing, we have a lot of understanding and support for each other. You would think the age difference could be a challenge, but so far things are going really well. I also really appreciate how he treats Penelope. It's so sweet to see. He always asks for her, always visits her to say hello when he leaves, and gets her love back. So cute!"

In 2023, Max Verstappen had a conversation with a German publication, Blick, during which he spoke about his future plans with Kelly. When asked about their wedding plans, the F1 championship shared that he is happy with the model and is not thinking about marriage. In his words:
"Marry? I? Now you have publicly pressured me to give a date! I don't know, time will tell. At the moment I'm very, very happy with Kelly, but personally, I don't have a timetable for when I'll get on my knees in front of her. This should all happen spontaneously."
Max Verstappen and Kelly Piquet embraced parenthood in 2025
After dating for a few years, Max and Kelly announced that they were expecting their first child in 2024. At that time, the couple often shared cosy photos, in which the F1 driver could be seen holding his ladylove's baby bump. The next year they welcomed a baby girl, Lily. However, it is worth mentioning that Kelly embraced motherhood in 2019, with her ex-boyfriend, Daniil Kvyat. The former couple welcomed a daughter, Penelope. Today, Max and Kelly live together in Monaco with their two daughters.
