At the time, Michael was married but separated from his then-wife, Diandra Luker.
After Jeanne and Michael Douglas eventually ended their affair, the actress went on to marry Leland Jones Orser. The duo has been married since 2000.

Jeanne Tripplehorn's husband, Leland Orser, was born on August 6, 1960, in San Francisco, California. He graduated from Connecticut College in 1982, following which he went on to study acting at Drama Studio London. Just like his wife, Orser is also part of the entertainment industry, working as an actor, director, and writer.
Leland Orser initially began his career as a stage actor and was nominated for a Helen Hayes Award for Best Supporting Actor in 1991 for his performance in The Secret Rapture. In the same year, Orser made his television debut with the series Gabriel’s Fire. Since then, he has appeared in several hit programs including Cheers, The Golden Girls, The X-Files, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, The Pretender, The Outer Limits, and more.
Orser has also appeared in films over the years. In 2003, he appeared in Daredevil, portraying the role of ‘Wesley Owen Welch’. He has also essayed several roles in the Star Trek franchise.
Coming to his personal life, before Leland Orser married Jeanne Tripplehorn, he tied the knot with Roma Downey. However, things between them did not last long, and they soon divorced in 1987. He then tied the knot with Jeanne in 2000. It is worth mentioning that the couple had starred together in Peter Berg’s dark comedy Very Bad Things. The couple welcomed a son named August Tripplehorn Orser in 2002.

Jeanne Tripplehorn and Michael Douglas' affair began on the sets of their 1992 movie Basic Instinct. Michael admitted in his memoir that he “fell very hard for Jeanne” even though they had a nearly 20-year age gap. Despite their secret affair being brief, Michael claimed that Jeanne was initially “unwilling to get involved” with a married man. But he reassured her that he was formally separated from his then-wife, Diandra Douglas.
Michael revealed that he and Jeanne “took great pains to hide the relationship from the cast and crew.” He also said that everyone was so focused on a possible relationship between him and his co-star Sharon Stone that they missed the real relationship that happened between him and Jeanne. He added:
"With Jeanne, the passion you see onscreen reflects the genuine passion of our brief affair. I was crazy about her. But I was also just self-aware enough to know that the worst thing I could do at that moment after nearly twenty years of marriage was jump right into another serious relationship.”
According to Michael Douglas, his relationship with Jeanne developed as they spent many hours together, talking, getting to know each other, and “enjoying each other's company away from the set and everything else in the world.” However, things between them only lasted for as long as their film’s production continued. After this, they both went their separate ways. Michael divorced Diandra in 1995, whereas Jeanne went ahead and married Leland Orser. Michael wrote:
"My relationship with Jeanne lasted through production, then we went our separate ways. But I will always think of her as an amazing actress and a truly terrific woman that I was very fortunate to spend time with."
