"In the fall of 2024 my husband fell ill, and with it the end of our touring days around the world. Such events dictate a very different tour…that into our bodies and spirits and souls. Not that we’ve never looked there while we were on the road, of course we did. But today it’s commanding our full attention. We are doing this work mainly from our home in peaceful Northern Nevada."

Legendary musician and guitarist, Dave Mason passed away on April 19, 2026, at the age of 79. According to People Magazine, he died peacefully at his home in Gardnerville, Nevada, surrounded by his family and close ones. Later, the family gave a statement to People, and even though they didn't reveal the cause of his death, it can be said that the musician might have passed due to the illness that Winifred had opened up about in 2024. Their statement was:

"On behalf of his family, it is with deep and profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of Dave Mason. Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, celebrated songwriter, musician, singer, and author passed away peacefully at his home in Gardnerville, Nev."
