Manoj Bajpayee is one of the most talented actors on the block. A three-time National Award winner, he carved his own niche in Indian cinema, after hailing from a small town in Bihar, and absolutely no connections. Over his incredible career over decades, Manoj has been a part of some pathbreaking films, such as Satya, Satyagraha, Aarakshan, Pinjar, Veer Zara, Zubeidaa, among countless others. Speaking about his personal life, Manoj is married to former actress, Shabana Raza and the duo is blessed with a daughter, Ava.
Manoj Bajpayee is currently busy with the promotions of his latest thriller, Joram. During an interview with The Lallantop, Manoj shared some candid reactions of his wife, Shabana Raza has, upon seeing his films. The actor revealed how his wife is always upset that he doesn’t share the scripts with her before accepting the offer, and the film ends up to being something to her dislike. He mentioned:
“Shabana has the complaint that I don’t share scripts with her. Because I like giving surprises to Shabana. I wait for the reaction and emotions that follow after surprising her. The biggest compliments and criticism I get are by Shabana. So whatever she feels after seeing the film should be first. So only I don’t share scripts and she complains a lot about it. There have been fights about the same.”

Continuing with the revelation, Manoj then revealed how his wife reacts when she sees some of his films, that she finds embarrassing to watch. He recalled a particular moment when he took Shabana to see his film, Aligarh, post which she was visibly annoyed and upset. Elaborating more on that episode, Manoj Bajpayee said:
“I went inside and the film had just ended. I was like has it ended? Shabana did not even look at me, she went straight out and climbed down four floors, took an auto and went home. She cried a lot at home. So I wait for reactions like this.”
Concluding his revelation, Manoj Bajpayee shared that his wife, Shabana Raza has actually forbidden him from doing embarrassing films in the future and has even given him the threat of them returning to Delhi away from the films. Sharing more of his wife’s words of warning to him, the actor revealed:
“Yeh kya bakwaas hai? Apne jeevan mai, kisi sharmindagi wale kaam karne se pehle soch lena ki mujhe tumse ashayein hai. Aage se mujhe aise sharmindagi ka ehsaas bilkul nahi chahiye. We can go to Delhi or we can go back to your village and settle down. But I don’t want such type of embarrassment.”

In an earlier interview with The Hindustan Times, Manoj Bajpayee addressed conjectures about him having a net worth of Rs. 170 crores. In his response, the actor hilariously reacted and shared that such an exorbitant amount of money is hard to make with the kind of work that he does. In fact, he added that he is still working hard to save some bit of extra money in his kitty. Moreover, he wittily called out filmmakers to hear him and start hiking his fees, so that he would be able to actually manifest such a net worth in reality.
