Sanjay and Maanyata have been married since February, 2008. Pictures and news of their marriage came in as a sweet surprise to many as the couple got married in a secret ceremony at Taj Exotica in Goa. A lot of gossips came up as soon as people heard of their marriage, but what followed them were heaps of good wishes and congratulations. In a throwback interview, Maanyata opened up about her life after marriage with Sanjay. The doting wife shared, “Oh yes. I've never been happier. Sanju has stood by me through thick and thin. I've known him for nine years. We started seeing each other seriously in 2005. But he knew my past. So when 'friends' tried to provoke him he just laughed it off. He knew everything about me. When I was going through hell before my marriage, I'd pick up the phone and ask him for help. We're both very positive people and we like to live and let live. We both believe in forgiving. And we believe every saint can have a past. And every sinner can have a future."
Did you know? As reports have it, it was Maanyata’s birthday, two months after Sanjay had gone off to serve his jail term. As he couldn’t be with her on this special occasion, Sanjay plucked a red rose from the jail's garden and kept it between the leaflets of a book and wrote a beautiful poem for her. Post Sanjay’s release from jail, in an interview to an online portal, he had shared, “Maanyata is not my 'better' half but my 'best' half. She is my strength. Whenever I fall down, she supports me. I believe she had suffered more than myself. Raising kids alone and realising each day what she had, I pray that nobody gets to suffer it anywhere.”
For the uninitiated, this is Sanjay’s second marriage to Maanyata. He was earlier married to Richa Sharma and has a beautiful daughter, Trishala. Richa breathed her last on December 10, 1996, in New York as she was suffering from a terminal illness of brain tumour.
