Rajinikanth, fondly called as the ‘Thalaiva’ of the Tamil film industry, is one of the most legendary actors of his generation. The superstar is happily married to the love of his life, Latha Rangachari, and they are blessed with two beautiful daughters, Aishwarya and Soundarya. Rajinikanth lives a lavish life with his family and enjoys a massive fandom. However, for the past few months, his wife, Latha Rajinikanth, has been in the news for an alleged cheating case.
For the unversed, Chennai-based company, Ad Bureau Advertising Pvt Ltd, had filed a cheating case against Rajinikanth’s wife, Latha Rajinikanth regarding the rights of the film, Kochadaiiyaan. It was claimed that they lent Rs. 10 crores to Media One, a co-producer on the film, and Latha allegedly signed as a guarantor. Soon, a cheating case was filed against her, but Bengaluru Court granted her bail. Now, Latha spoke to ANI and reacted to the ongoing case, saying:
“For me, it’s a case of humiliation and harassment and exploitation of a popular person. This is the price we pay for being celebrities. So there may not be a big case, but the news becomes very big. There is no fraudulence.”

Speaking along the same lines, Latha shared that the money that is being reported is between Media One and the concerned people, and she has nothing to do with it. She further added that the money had already been paid, and she was a guarantor of the same. In her words:
“I have nothing to do with the money that is being reported. That is between Media One and the concerned people. They have already settled and the topic is between them. I made sure as a guarantor that they have been paid.”
For the unversed, in October 2023, the Supreme Court reinstated the criminal charges against Latha Rajinikanth in connection with the 2014 Tamil film, Kochadaiiyaan. As reported by the news agency, ANI at that time, the court said:
“Accordingly, the SLP(Crl) No. 9818/2022 and SLP(Crl.) No. 8327/2022 is disposed of by restoring the final report filed. However, liberty is granted to the petitioner(s) in SLP(Crl.) No.8327/2022 to file an appropriate application, if so advised, seeking discharge. We make it clear that if such application is filed on behalf of the petitioner(s), the findings rendered under the impugned order will not stand in the way, and the Trial Court is directed.”

Earlier, in a media interaction, Rajinikanth opened up about the earnest efforts and help done by his wife, Latha to pull him out of alcoholism. He recalled how he ended up consuming alcohol due to his friendship with the wrong people, way back when he worked as a bus conductor. The actor also added that he was engrossed with consuming alcohol, mutton, and cigarettes daily, which took a toll on his health. He mentioned:
“I am 73 years old now, and the reason for my health is my wife. When I was a bus conductor, due to the friendship of some wrong guys, I had many bad habits. I used to eat mutton twice a day. I used to drink daily, and I don’t know how many cigarettes I smoked. Daily morning I wanted to eat mutton paya, appam, and chicken. I used to look down upon vegetarians. She (Latha) was the one who changed me with her love. With love and the right doctors, she changed me.”
