On his professional front, Aamir will be next seen in the movie, Time Machine. Apart from his professional life, Aamir's personal front often grabs a lot of attention. Aamir's first marriage was with Reena Dutta, which ended after 19 years. After that, Aamir found love yet again in the arms of Kiran Rao, but this marriage, too, ended. Despite the fact that Aamir has parted ways with his two wives, he shares a cordial bond with both of them. And now, Kiran shared an unheard anecdote about Aamir's first wife, Reena.
In a recent interview with Zoom, Kiran Rao shared that even after their divorce, Reena Dutta never left Aamir's family, and the family members are highly protective of her. Kiran also shared that when she got married to Aamir, Reena was also a part of Aamir's family, and they soon became friends. The filmmaker further stated that she loves Aamir's first wife, Reena, because of the kind of person she is. Kiran stated:
"Reena never left the family. It was very much the same when Aamir and Reena got divorced. The family was highly protective of Reena and when I got married, Reena was a part of the family and we became really good friends because she is an incredible human-being. I absolutely love her, she’s a dear friend.”

Kiran Rao, in several of her interviews, talked about her cordial bond with his ex-hubby, Aamir Khan's family members. However, in a recent interview, Kiran shared that she not only got married to an actor but to a family which she continues to love. The filmmaker also shared that she still loves Aamir Khan's mom, Zeenat Hussain, so much so that the latter is the 'apple of her eye'. Kiran also shared that despite parting ways from one another, she, along with her son, Azad, and other family members, planned Ira Khan and Nupur Shikhare's wedding together.
Aamir Khan first met Kiran Rao on the sets of Lagaan, and after one year of the movie's release, the actor got divorced from Reena Dutta. It also provided everyone with the idea that Kiran was the reason behind Aamir and Reena's split. However, in the same interview with Zoom, Kiran stated that she was not connected to Aamir during that time, and she barely spoke to the actor on the Lagaan set. The filmmaker also mentioned that during that time, she was dating someone else. It was during the shooting of Swades that she and Aamir got connected again, and they started dating in 2004.

Earlier, in another interview with The Week, Kiran Rao opened up about her equation with Aamir Khan's first wife, Reena Dutta. The filmmaker stated that they both love each other, and they even spend time with one another, even if when Aamir is absent.
