Khloe Kardashian Slams Her Ex-Husband, Lamar Odom After NBA Star Said He Married Model For 'Fame'

Reality show personality and entrepreneur, Khloe Kardashian, who is best-known for her appearance in Keeping Up with the Kardashians recently addressed a statement made by her ex-husband, Lamar Odom. For the unversed, in the Netflix documentary, Untold: The Death & Life of Lamar Odom, the NBA star stated that he married Khloe due to her fame and lavish lifestyle. Well, now Khloe has fired back at him for making such strong claims.

What did Lamar Odom say about his wedding with Khloe Kardashian?

For those who missed it, in the recently released Netflix documentary, Untold: The Death & Life of Lamar Odom, the NBA player revealed that even though he was successful at that time, he was attracted towards Khloe Kardashian because of her wealth, luxurious lifestyle and strong connections. He described their marriage as a 'power trip'. In the documentary, Lamar Odom was quoted as saying:

"I'm already Lamar Odom, and I'm just watching how she live and [her family's] lifestyle, I'm like, 'I know this is where I wanna be. This is how I wanna live."

Apart from Lamar Odom, one of his close friends named Anthony Brooker had also shared that the NBA player thought his wedding with Khloe Kardashian would help him in his future as the reality TV personality has multiple connections. Anthony shared, "He talked to me for two hours. He was explaining [that] the moves that he's doing, he was doing it to try to better his future. [The Kardashians] know mad people, they got mad connections."

Khloe Kardashian fires back at her ex-husband for his comments

On April 15, 2026, Khloe Kardashian appeared on one of the episodes of the podcast, Khloe in Wonder Land, in which she slammed the NBA star for his harsh comments regarding their marriage. Calling out his statements, she explained that she feels 'dumb'. Khloe revealed that she did the Netflix documentary without getting a single penny. Further, she explained that she took months thinking about the documentary and she only agreed to do it when Netflix approached her and asked her to do it. In her words:

"You're sitting on camera saying you married me for fame? Like, what? That's some f---ed up shit. I feel so dumb. I spent hours doing this documentary as a favor. I'm not paid one penny. I'm pissed that I'm even involved. Now, never going to do another Lamar thing again."

Talking about Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom's relationship, reportedly they met in 2009, after being introduced by a mutual friend. The ex-couple instantly connected and soon started dating. In September 2009, they tied the knot. In the beginning, everything seemed good as Khloe supported Lamar's basketball career and the star player became a part of her family.

Slowly and gradually, things started to worsen. Multiple reports claimed that the duo was facing infidelity issues. Later, a few reports also stated that their relationship was strained due to fame. In 2013, Khloe filed for divorce. However, in 2015, the proceedings were paused when Lamar suffered an overdose. Despite having multiple issues, Khloe stepped in to take care of him at that time. The next year, in 2016, their divorce was finalised.

If reports are to be believed, the NBA player has been linked with his childhood sweetheart, Liza Morales, Hidden Figures actress, Taraji P. Henson and fitness trainer, Sabrina Parr. For those who do not know, Lamar and Sabrina were engaged; however, they parted ways in 2020. Currently, Lamar Odom is in a relationship with a Los Angeles-based real estate agent, Rachel Bradley, according to a report by People.
