For the unversed, the deaf actress, who is best-known for her role in Godzilla vs. Kong was only 18-year-old, at the time of her demise. As her family and friends are devastated by her tragic passing, the authorities have revealed the cause of her death.
Kaylee Hottle passed away due to the impact of car crash
As per a recent report by TMZ, the Maryland Office of the Chief Medical Examiner revealed that the actress passed away due to multiple blunt force injuries. In simple words, multiple blunt force injuries means her body was deeply impacted after being hit by a strong force during the accident. The wounds were suffered due to the impact of the car crash. Officials have confirmed that her demise was an accident and have ruled out foul play.
Talking about the fatal incident, it happened at 2:52 a.m. in Maryland. As per reports, Kaylee was in a 1995 Honda Accord, when the 19-year-old driver lost control and crashed into a drainage ditch. They were accompanied by another passenger, who suffered minor injuries and even refused medical help. Kaylee, who suffered major injuries, was immediately rushed to a trauma centre; however, she couldn't be saved.
Her demise was confirmed by Kaylee’s father, Joshua, who confirmed the former’s passing through a 23-minute Facebook video. He looked absolutely emotional, when he shared details about the accident and revealed that he is taking a flight to Maryland to collect the body of his daughter. Fans flooded the comment section of the video.
For those who do not know, before her death, Kaylee Hottle attended the Texas School for the Deaf. After her untimely passing, the school took to her Facebook handle to pen a heartfelt tribute for her. Their statement can be read as:
"Our hearts are with Kaylee’s family, friends, classmates, and everyone who knew and loved her during this incredibly difficult time. At this time, we have very limited information and ask that everyone respect the privacy of Kaylee’s family and refrain from sharing or speculating about the circumstances surrounding the accident."
Kaylee Hottle's acting career
Kaylee Hottle began her acting journey at a very young age. Even though she rose to fame with Godzilla vs. Kong, the actress once revealed that she began her career with an advertisement. In the same, she raised awareness for the Deaf community. After appearing as 'Jia' in 2021, she went on to appear in Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire and Magnum P.I. Season 4.
It is worth mentioning that even though she had a short career, Kaylee definitely left a lasting impact on the audience. For her stellar performance in Godzilla vs. Kong, she earned a Saturn Award nomination for Best Younger Performer in a Film. Over the years, she had often spoken about her challenges and her pride in representing the Deaf community.
Ever since Kaylee passed away, multiple celebrities have paid their tributes for her. One of them was Millie Bobby Brown, who penned a heartbreaking tribute for her. Later, Marlee Matlin and Lauren Ridloff also wrote a tribute for her. Amid that, an old statement of Alexander Skarsgard has resurfaced, in which he said:
"It's fascinating how comfortable she is in front of the camera and how quickly she takes notes from the director. He'll explain something and she'll be like, 'Got it, got it,' then she'll just do it. … There's so much going on on her face, her expression and the subtleties of that is fascinating to watch."
