Katy Perry Unexpectedly Headed To Boyfriend, Justin Trudeau's Montreal Home After Their First Date

Katy Perry is one of the biggest pop sensations. Apart from her music, though, she has often grabbed headlines for her personal life. For those unaware, at present, she is in a relationship with the former Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau. Amid this, a source recently revealed an unexpected move made by Katy after her first date with Justin.

According to reports, the sparks between Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau flew almost immediately. Interestingly, a source for Page Six revealed an unexpected move made by the Dark Horse singer following their first date, saying, “Katy ended up back at Justin's place in Montreal after their first date, and they have been inseparable ever since.” The couple were photographed together for the first time in July 2025 when they were dining at a restaurant called Le Violon. 

At the time, Katy Perry was reportedly touring in Canada. According to an insider close to the pair, “one of the main ways” that she and Justin connected was when the latter's team reached out for tickets to attend the singer's concert. They also wanted to arrange a meet and greet with Justin's daughter, Ella Grace, who is a big fan of Katy. The source claimed that “both have really busy schedules but make it a point to take time out for each other.” 

Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau's past relationships

Before Katy Perry got into a relationship with Justin Trudeau, she was together with Orlando Bloom. The duo reportedly got engaged on Valentine's Day in 2019, and while many thought that they would be endgame, they surprised fans by calling off the engagement in July 2025. They announced the same by issuing a joint statement through their representatives. Katy and Orlando share one daughter, Daisy Dove, who is 5 years old as of June 2026. 

On the other hand, Justin Trudeau was married to Sophie Grégoire Trudeau. The duo were together for 18 years and had welcomed three children together during this time. The former Canadian Prime Minister announced his separation from Sophie in August 2023. Talking about how Katy and Justin got together after this, a source said:

“Katy and Justin were both somewhat newly out of a serious relationship, and Katy didn't expect to fall for somebody as quickly as she did. But Justin checks all of the boxes as far as she's concerned. He has a fantastic sense of humour, he is charming, he is a total gentleman and is exactly what she's been looking for in a partner.”

Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau are currently going strong, which has led to reports of them allegedly moving in. Another news that has been going around is that the pair is getting serious, something which led Katy to introduce her daughter, Daisy, to Justin's children from his previous marriage. Reportedly, now that they are in a relationship, Justin and Katy are constantly prioritising their families. They believe that it is important to blend their families in a thoughtful manner since they are in a comfortable place. According to a source, the couple wanted to blend their families ahead of them celebrating their one-year of togetherness. 

Reportedly, Justin thinks that Katy is the perfect woman and is absolutely “crazy” about her. A few days ago, on June 3, 2026, reports claimed that the couple were moving on together, with the former PM showing Katy his new home as well.
