For the many unversed, Kartik and Fatima came together for the latter’s debut film, Akash Vani in 2013. Although Kartik was paired opposite to Nushrratt Bharuccha, Fatima played an important character role in the film. The duo met each other while shooting for the same and started dating one another after being friends for a while. While their relationship continued in secret, it was only when some of Kartik’s pictures clicked by Fatima surfaced on the internet. Unfortunately, their relationship was short-lived and the couple walked separate ways soon after.

In an interview with the Hindustan Times, Fatima once opened up on her complaints against Kartik for not giving her enough credit for the childhood pictures he captured of his. In her words:
“Kartik ka hai, jab bhi dikh jata hai to 'hello, hi, how are you' ho jaata hai. Lekin uska wahi hai, uske jo photos khinche the maine bachpan me, wo aaj bhi wahi photos daalta hai Instagram me aur credit nahi deta .He never gives me credit for the photos, and I click very good photos. Every photographer feels this. Whenever you do not give due credit to photographers, we feel very bad. Dangal se pehle, mai to photos khinchti thi, mere ko bahut bura lagta hai.”

Soon after his breakup with Fatima, Kartik’s personal life again came upfront when the strong rumours of the actor dating his Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety co-star, Nushrratt Bharuccha. Their chemistry on-screen was so prolific that the audience were soon to guess that their emotions had seeped into their real life as well. However, time and again Kartik had revealed that his bonding with Nushrratt was nothing more than friendship. In his words:
“My relationship is amazing with Nushrat, and there is no affair. It is a very friendly relationship that we have. We have been working together for a pretty long time. It is always good to perform with an actor who is good and inspires you to do better.”
Kartik Aaryan’s relationship with his Love Aaj Kal 2 co-star, Sara Ali Khan had been one of the most gossiped stories in Bollywood. The duo fell in love during the shooting of the film, and appeared to be going quite strong with one another. Moreover, their fans started to speculate on a successful future for the couple ever since Sara Ali Khan made a bold stance and mentioned that she would like to marry Kartik Aaryan on the chat show, Koffee With Karan. Unfortunately, after the failure of their film at the box-office, the duo parted ways due to unknown reasons.
