Kareena Kapoor Khan Remembers Her Grandmother, Krishna Raj Kapoor On Her Second Death Anniversary

People go, but what remains with us is their memory that is forever etched in our hearts. It was this day, two years back, when the wife of the legendary actor-filmmaker, Raj Kapoor and the Kapoor family's matriarch, Krishna Raj Kapoor had passed away due to cardiac arrest. On October 1, 2018, the nation had woken up to a heart-wrenching news of Krishna Raj Kapoor taking her last breath and her demise has surely left a great void in the lives of the Kapoors. Krishna Raj Kapoor and Raj Kapoor were not only blessed with doting children, but were more-than-lucky as they had such affectionate daughters-in-law, sons-in-law and grandchildren. (Also Read: When Ranbir Kapoor Had Turned Sous-Chef For Brother-In-Law, Saif Ali Khan At Kapoors' Get-Together)

In 2018, Krishna Raj Kapoor and Raj Kapoor’s son, Randhir Kapoor had confirmed the news of his mother’s demise and had stated to PTI, "My mother passed away at about 5 am today due to cardiac arrest...old age was another factor. We are deeply saddened by her demise.” It was on September 29, 2018, when Rishi Kapoor had left for the US for his cancer treatment, and two days later, his mother had breathed her last. It was the reason why Rishi Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor and Ranbir Kapoor weren’t there to bid a final adieu to Krishna Raj Kapoor. But the Kapoor khandaan was present to pay their last tributes to Krishna ji.

The doting son had shared, “That was very unfortunate. I left for the US on September 29, and my mother passed away on October 1. She knew that I had contracted a serious disorder. That entire period was traumatic for me. I was caught up with my problem. I didn’t know what to do, and I didn’t have an option because I had to be here in New York. My brother told me that by the time I would get back, it would be too late. Also, I didn’t have the stamina or strength to come back.” (Also Read: Amitabh Bachchan Couldn't Afford 2 Rupees To Join His School Cricket Team, Shares Childhood Story)
