Karan Wahi Clarifies There Were No Plans To Marry Ex-Girlfriend Uditi Singh, 'Has Been Misconstrued'

Uditi, who is currently inside the Bigg Boss 20 house, opened up about her relationship with Karan, which ended sometime in 2022. She revealed that her family did not like their relationship as Karan was an actor. In fact, they also objected to the relationship due to their huge age gap. Now, in an interview, Karan got candid about what really went wrong in their relationship.
Karan Wahi opens up about his relationship with Uditi Singh
In a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan, Karan Wahi opened up about his relationship with Bigg Boss 20 contestant Uditi Singh. Karan clarified that although he started dating Uditi with the intention of eventually marrying her, they had never made definite wedding plans. The actor explained that he was around 33–34 years old when their relationship began.
At that stage of his life, he did not want to be in a relationship unless he could see it leading to marriage. Karan mentioned that both he and Uditi discussed their future and spent a lot of time together during COVID-19. However, the actor clarified that they were never on the verge of getting married. He said:
"There was nothing called that we were about to get married or we had plans of getting married. I think it was the intention to take it to marriage, which I think has been misconstrued as shaadi hone wali thi."
In the same interview, Karan addressed what really went wrong in their relationship. Giving a straightforward reply, he said that they were not compatible. He then dismissed the speculation that interference or objections from their parents had caused the split. The former couple had an age difference of around 10 years, something that has been widely discussed since their relationship became public. However, Karan did not say that their age gap was the reason for their breakup. He said:
"I think we were not compatible enough. At least that’s my truth."
Further, in the interview, Karan reacted to Uditi’s comments about their relationship on Bigg Boss 20. He pointed out that viewers may not have seen everything she said about him because portions of her conversations were edited out of the televised episodes. Karan alleged that Uditi had also acknowledged the support he extended to her when she moved to Mumbai and was trying to establish her career.
Despite the renewed attention on their relationship, Karan maintained that he does not hold any bitterness towards his former partner. It is worth mentioning that in an episode of Bigg Boss 20, Uditi said that her breakup from Karan was a 'blessing in disguise'. She also alleged that Karan used to demotivate her. She revealed that during the time of the COVID-19 lockdown, they bought a pet, a golden retriever. She said:
"Humne lockdown mein na saath mein pet liya, a golden retriever. Usko leke bohot ladaiyaan start hui. Woh thoda dominant bhi tha usme… aapko nahi aata. Kyunki age gap tha, toh har cheez mereko ye bolte the ki, 'Aap nahi kar payenge,' and 'Aapko nahi aata!' Partner hi demotivate kar raha hai."
Uditi said that after her breakup, her whole career and life changed. Earlier, she also shared how they met. She revealed that she DM'd Karan on Instagram about a restaurant in London, and then the two decided to meet. The actor was in London for three days, when the two and his other friends went out shopping and continued talking. After two months, they started dating. During the lockdown, Uditi had shifted to India and was looking for jobs in an MNC while staying closer to her then-boyfriend, Karan.
