'Gajab Raat' Ending Explained, Will 'Ajay Nirvit' Choose Money And Kill Journalist 'Arya'?

Gajab Raat is currently the talk of the town. For the unversed, the crime thriller premiered on Netflix on October 23, 2026. The crime thriller film stars Manoj Bajpayee, Nushrratt Bharuccha, Akshay Oberoi, Aditi Sharma, Divya Dutta, and others. Manoj has stepped into the shoes of a corrupt police officer named 'Ajay Nirvit'. His life takes an unexpected turn when he investigates an injured journalist named 'Arya Sahni', played by Aditi Sharma.

What happens in Gajab Raat? (Spoiler alert)

'Ajay Nirvit' is a corrupt police officer in Delhi whose life takes an unexpected turn when he begins investigating an injured journalist named 'Arya Sahni'. As he goes deeper into the case, he discovers that influential people are involved in a plan to create a fake vaccine shortage so they can make more money. Now 'Ajay' needs to decide whether to protect 'Arya' from the powerful people and uncover the truth or look out for his own interests.

Gajab Raat introduces 'Arya Sahni' as a mystery woman. She is a journalist who is investigating a major controversy. At first, when she falls out of a moving car in Delhi, nobody knows who she is or why someone is trying to target and kill her. As the investigation progresses, 'Ajay' discovers 'Arya' is not an ordinary victim. She has uncovered a secret plan involving pharmaceutical companies and influential people to create an artificial vaccine shortage.

The only aim is to make ordinary people panic and increase vaccine prices so that those involved can make more money. 'Arya' has collected recordings and other important evidence that could expose everyone involved in the conspiracy. However, her editor betrays her by sharing the information about her with CBI officer 'Naveen Madhok', played by Akshay Oberoi.

'Arya' is kidnapped and tortured because the conspirators want to recover the evidence collected by her. She eventually jumps out of 'Naveen's' moving car, but her condition becomes critical, and she slips into a coma. During the investigation, 'Arya' gets an SD card. The card contains valuable evidence and recordings. The journalist is afraid that the conspirators will find the SD card and destroy the crucial evidence. Thus, she swallows it to keep it away from them.

The card could expose how powerful people planned the vaccine shortage for financial gain. This is why they are desperate to find 'Arya' and silence her before the truth comes out. Politician 'Suneeta Chaudhary', played by Divya Dutta, is one of the main people behind the conspiracy. She desperately wants to prevent 'Arya's' evidence from becoming public because the revelation would damage her political career.

Since 'Ajay Nirvit' is already a corrupt police officer who regularly accepts bribes, the conspirators believe they can use his greed against him. They offer to kill 'Arya'. Politician 'Suneeta' also threatens to expose 'Ajay's' past history of corruption if he refuses to do what she wants.

Gajab Raat ending explained (Spoiler alert)

At the beginning of the crime thriller film, 'Ajay' is a corrupt police officer who values money and his own interests more. However, his encounter with journalist 'Arya' forces him to reconsider his choices. He realises that killing her would allow the conspirators to escape responsibility for their crimes.

He chooses to save 'Arya'. He gives 'Suneeta' an ultimatum and says that if 'Arya' does not get proper medical care, he will leak the footage of her to the public. Eventually, 'Suneeta' agrees to 'Ajay's' demands. This move by 'Ajay' gives 'Arya' a chance to survive. She is sent to Singapore for treatment. In the end, 'Suneeta' resigns, and 'Arya' gets a chance to receive treatment, but the bigger conspiracy remains hidden.
