The nine months of the pregnancy journey is an emotional roller-coaster ride for the couple and it is then when the duties of fatherhood begin for the 'Penguin Dad'. When the little one is born and placed in the couple's arms, the happiness knows no bounds and it is the most emotional moment for them. 2019 ended on a blissful note for Karan Patel and Ankita Bhargava as they had welcomed a little angel in their lives. Since Karan had wrapped up shooting for his show, Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, in December 2019, he has been spending quality time with his baby girl since then. Karan Patel and Ankita Bhargava have been making the most of their parenthood phase together with their seven-month-old baby girl, Mehr Patel. It was on December 14, 2019, when Karan and Ankita were visited by the stork with their little bundle of joy. And a week later, the newbie parents had announced the little one's arrival and revealed the name of 'Rabb Di Mehr' on them. The poster shared by Karan and Ankita had "IT'S A GIRL! & we call her... Mehr Karan Patel Loving Parents, Ankita & Karan Patel" written on it. Karan and Ankita had captioned it as “All your blessings made our world beautiful, a heartfelt thankyou to all our well wishers .... #RabbDiMehr.”
In an interview with ETimes, Karan Patel spoke about fatherhood, the 'sabse sukoon wali feeling' of watching his baby girl grow, how his daughter helped him bond with his wife internally and Ankita Bhargava as a mother. Elaborating on the unexplainable experience of fatherhood and the tremendous love fathers have for their children, Karan said, "Fatherhood can't be explained, you have to live it to explain it. Like we say a mother's warmth and feelings are visible. When you look into a mother's eyes, you can see the love for her child, but maybe fathers are not very expressive about their feelings. But even fathers have tremendous love for their children. It's just that they are unable to explain and express it which is a drawback. It's a brilliant and amazing feeling."
Recalling the emotional moment when he was asked to cut the umbilical cord, Karan Patel reminisced, "Life ki sabse sukoon waali feeling hai.. to see your child, your daughter sleeping, playing whatever she is doing. That's the most peaceful sight in the world. I cried hard yaar. And secondly, when it was time to cut the umbilical cord, I was shivering. I cried very badly. She is too small to understand who she is close to - Ankita or me. She has now properly started reacting to everything and recognising faces. But I am sure girls are always close to their fathers and Mehr would be no exception." (Also Read: Raveena Tandon Wishes Happy Birthday To Son, Ranbirvardhan On His 13th Birthday, Shares Rare Photos)
Parenting isn't a cakewalk but when parents share the responsibilities, it becomes a smooth ride. On the similar lines, Karan Patel continued, "When Meher came into our life, she bonded us internally, but when a kid is born, the first six-eight months the mother has to give it to the child so that is the kind of dedication required from a mother's side. I don't think anyone other than a mother can do it. I don't think even a father can do it, waking up all night, taking care of her, I don't think anyone can do except the mother. I do try to help out during the day time, I have also been awake for a few nights but raaton ko jaagna is not that I can do, for that I think Ankita is best. Parenting is a job of give and take. None of the parents can accept to gain more and give less or vice versa. It is an equal responsibility for both. Jitni responsibility ek mother ki hai utni ek father ki bhi hai. When a mother-father both work in tandem that's when the upbringing turns out to be absolutely perfect."
When asked if his wife, Ankita Bhargava is the best mother in the world, the proud husband, Karan Patel remarked, "Usually people say that she is the best mother in the world, I won't say she's the best mother, but I don't think the best mother in the world could be any less than Ankita is."
