Karan Johar has been riding high on the professional front. The producer, who recently completed 25 years in Bollywood, received the National Award for his contribution to the Indian film industry. Meanwhile, his recently released film, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, starring Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh, did exceptionally well at the box office. And now, Karan Johar is back with the eighth season of his much-loved talk show, Koffee with Karan.
On October 18, 2023, Karan Johar took to his IG handle and dropped a video featuring the behind-the-scenes of Koffee with Karan 8. In the video, KJo gave a sneak peek into the sets, featuring the famous 'Koffee' couch, aesthetic interiors and the coveted 'Koffee' hamper. This season, the guests will be offered orange-hued coffee mugs, which will later grace the shelf next to the show's stage. Alongside the video, KJo penned a caption, which can be read as:
“For the first time ever, get a glimpse of the world of Koffee With Karan before we start brewing!”

However, what caught everyone's attention was the quirky white-hued couch placed on the sets of the much-loved show. The new couch is adorned with Graffiti art featuring some famous words from the show and pop culture. Beside it, we can also see a white-hued chair with classy red-wired arms and legs, which is unique in every sense.
Now, the video was shared on Reddit, which ignited a meme fest on social media. The netizens are unimpressed with the 'Koffee' couch, and they even called it hideous. Reacting to the video, one user wrote, "Couch ain't going with the overall aesthetic. For sure." Another user commented, "What is that chair even? Don't get me started on the couch. Ughs." Meanwhile, a third comment can be read as "Why do the sets get progressively worse with every season? Is Gauri 'interior designing' this set?"

On October 9, 2023, Karan Johar shared a new promo for the show, Koffee With Karan 8, on his Instagram handle, wherein he displayed his witty self. In the video, Karan got a call from his ‘Konscience’ and stated that he was making a guest list for the show, KWK 8. The filmmaker looked confused as he made a few suggestions to be included in this season’s guestlist. Karan was heard asking his alter ego if he should invite his enemies and ditch star kids, and he also mentioned that he should not invite single people as he has already done the matchmaking for everyone.
