It was on December 12, 2018, that one of the most famous comedians of the country, Kapil Sharma and his longtime sweetheart, Ginnni Chatrath entered the bond of holy matrimony. The duo had gotten married as per both Hindu and Anand Karaj wedding rituals and the very glimpse of the duo in their wedding avatars, totally swept us off our feet! In case you forgot how they looked, here’s a glimpse of the duo from their wedding:
Beautiful, right? It has hardly been two months since Kapil and Ginni’s marriage and today, i.e., February 14, 2019, is Valentine’s Day, a day dedicated to all lovers. On account of the same, Kapil was asked by Pinkvilla about his and Ginni’s V-Day and honeymoon plans. Revealing the same, Kapil also gave an inside scoop about interesting details pertaining to his marital life. Speaking about the same, the Firangi actor stated, “I don't think I would have gotten a better partner than Ginni. After wedding, I am not going for honeymoon but to Film City. Imagine! and she (Ginni) hasn't complained once. She tries to find happiness in mine and knows that I love working. My team tries to give me a few days off in between so that Ginni and I can go on small trips but we haven't gone on a honeymoon as yet. We are planning a honeymoon next month though."
Further speaking about his Valentine’s Day plans, Kapil shared, “I think we will shooting only this Valentine's Day. Before I can plan anything for her, she plans something. I am sure she has planned something. We were thinking of going on a trip with out team post shoot actually. Ginni is very happy because the entire team loves her and she shares a good equation with them.” (Must Read: Boney Kapoor, Brother Anil Kapoor Reach Chennai To Hold Puja For Sridevi's First Death Anniversary)
In an earlier interview with IANS, Kapil confirmed his wedding news. Revealing details about the same, he had stated, “The wedding is on December 12 in Jalandhar. That’s Ginni’s hometown. We wanted to keep it low key. But Ginni is the only daughter in her family. Her folks wanted the wedding to be on a lavish scale. And I completely understand their sentiments. My mother also wants the wedding to be lavish”. He had further added, “My mother has been saying that I should get married for a long time. Suddenly I realised that ‘abhi age ho rahi hai’ (I am getting on in age). So, I thought what if she says ‘no’ and after one or two years, no one agrees to get married to me.”
In an interview with the Bombay Times, Kapil and Ginni had revealed their love story. They first met in college and Ginni would bring food for him everyday out of respect. Kapil also shared how he once directly asked her if she likes him and she denied it. He recalled, “My friend told me that Ginni likes me, but I rubbished him. One day, I directly asked Ginni, ‘Tu mujhe like toh nahi karti?’ and she denied. Later, at a youth festival, I introduced her to my mother as one of my students."
He further stated, “Then I came to Mumbai for the 'Laughter Challenge' audition and by then, I had also appeared on a Punjabi TV channel. Ginni was impressed with me because I was studying and working at such a young age. When I got rejected for 'Laughter Challenge', I called her and said, ‘Please don’t call me’. I felt that our friendship has no future, as her financial condition was better and we belonged to different castes. So, we took a break. When I got selected for Laughter Challenge after auditioning again, she called to congratulate me." For the uninitiated, Ginni’s father had once rejected Kapil’s marriage proposal. Revealing about the incident, he shared, “When I started earning well, my mother took my marriage proposal to her family, which got rejected. Inke papaji ne bade pyaar se bola, ‘Shut up’ (laughs!). Thereafter, I got busy with work, while she pursued MBA in finance. I guess, she kept studying to avoid marriage proposals. At that time, I was settled in Mumbai, and so much was happening in my life. I then realised ki itna kuchh hua hai, but isne kabhi mujhe disturb nahi kiya. Itna patience kisi mein nahi dekha maine. Jab ye sab gadbad chal rahi thi, that’s when I decided that it was the right time to marry. It was my decision, because ye toh padhai kare hi jaa rahi thi (laughs!). So, on December 24, 2016, I called and told Ginni that I wanted to marry her. My mother has always been fond of her.”
Guys, remember the question that we asked you in the first paragraph? Time to answer it now! And, here’s wishing you a very happy Valentine’s Day!
