Jordan Devey's Parents Believe Ex-NFL Star Died Due To Brain Disease, They Say, 'He's Not With Us'

The entire sports world is mourning the death of former NFL star Jordan Devey. As per reports, the icon was only 38 years old, when he allegedly died by suicide. His wife shared a post on social media, confirming his demise. It is worth mentioning that fans have been heartbroken by his untimely death. Jordan Devey’s parents believe he died due to CTE and not suicide

Following Jordan Devey’s death, Fox 13 spoke to his parents. During the emotional conversation, Jordan Devey’s mother, Leslie expressed her concern towards the NFL player’s death and shared that he may have died from CTE (chronic traumatic encephalopathy).

She further added that CTE would have been the reason why the icon was not staying with his family, despite being only 38. She said, "We believe that he possibly suffered from CTE. We also feel like this was partly why he’s not with us any longer at the age of 38."

However, as per Jordan Devey’s mother, doctors won’t be able to test for CTE because of the "condition of what happened with his death." It is also worth mentioning that the GoFundMe page of Jordan Devey had revealed that the former player died by suicide.

For those who do not know, CTE is a brain disease that is linked to repeated head injuries. Reportedly, NFL players are most likely to die from such diseases. Talking about this, an author wrote, "A fourfold increase in dementia rates from a presumed environmental cause is immense - and brain bank studies indicate that CTE is the primary explanation."

Apart from Jordan’s mother, his father, Kerry also spoke about the player’s death. Kerry expressed regrets and shared that he wished he had any idea about Jordan’s condition. The former’s alleged suicide has brought everyone to their knees. Jordan’s father was quoted as saying:

"You think you’re strong until something like this happens…and it brings you to your knees. It brings in the what-ifs. What if we’d have done something differently? What if we could’ve seen these signs?"

Jordan Devey’s parents concluded the interview by requesting all the people to reach out to others if they are undergoing any problem. They explained, "We want people to understand that it’s okay to reach out. That help is there — and there’s nothing wrong with you for reaching out. You’re not fighting the battle alone."

Jordan Devey’s death

Talking about Jordan Devey, he was one of the most popular NFL players. As per reports, he had played for five teams in his seven seasons. In 2014, when he was playing for the Patriots, the team won the Super Bowl. In his personal life, he was married to Linsey Devey. While not much is available about her, she has been sharing heartfelt tributes for her husband. It is worth noting that Jordan and Linsey welcomed four children.

Amid Jordan’s demise, Linsey’s last post with him has gone viral. On July 24, 2026, she took to her Instagram handle to share a cutesy snap with him and their kids. Along with it, she penned an emotional note, in which she revealed that the entire family is shattered due to his suicide. Her caption can be read:

"We’ve been hit by a hurricane of sadness for the Deveys. We can’t imagine life without Jordan and love Linsey and the kids like the family. Please pray for them- pray for angels to hold them up. We’re shattered."
