Who is Marcellus Wiley?
Marcellus Wiley is once again in the limelight, but this time it has nothing to do with the sport, football. He was born on November 30, 1974, in Compton, California. He is an American sportscaster. Besides being a sportscaster, Marcellus is also a former NFL player. He entered the NFL world when the Buffalo Bills selected him in the second round of the 1997 NFL Draft out of Columbia University. After spending four seasons with the Buffalo Bills, Marcellus went on to sign with the San Diego Chargers in 2001.
Marcellus rose to fame during this phase and posted a career-high 13 sacks during 2001. He also earned the only Pro Bowl selection of his career. After three seasons with the San Diego Chargers, he joined the Dallas Cowboys in 2004. Before retiring, Marcellus played the 2005 and 2006 seasons for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Across 10 NFL seasons, Marcellus appeared in 166 regular-season games and recorded 44 sacks. Post-retirement, Marcellus joined ESPN as a sportscaster and worked on shows, including NFL Live and SportsNation. Later, he joined Fox Sports and became a familiar face in debate programs. He has also launched his own podcast and YouTube channel.
Marcellus Wiley threatened to kill his wife, Annemarie Wiley
Before his domestic violence arrest, Marcellus reportedly got physical with his wife, Annemarie, over the weekend. According to a report by TMZ, Annemarie told the police that her husband poked her in the cheek and threatened to kill her. This is also mentioned in the arrest affidavit. According to the legal documents obtained by TMZ, the couple was inside a hotel room in Orlando, Florida, on July 4, 2026 afternoon when things went wrong and the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star called police to report a physical assault or domestic battery.
When the cops arrived at the World Marriott, Annemarie reportedly told them that she wanted her husband, Marcellus, to be removed from their room because she was afraid of him after he threatened to take her life. The legal documents mentioned that their three children were also in the room along with other kids. The kids were at the hotel to attend a basketball tournament. Cops alleged Annemarie also told them that the former NFL player put his hands on her while she was sitting on the bed.
Standing over her, Marcellus 'used one finger to sternly and intentionally poke her in the cheek' in front of their 7-year-old daughter. In legal documents, Annemarie mentioned that she is all set to get a divorce from Marcellus, who reportedly had an unreported history of violence towards her in the past. Soon after the news of Marcellus’ arrest came to light, social media users took it to the discussion platform, Reddit. A user wrote on Reddit, "Yep and their radio show max and Marcellus was truly elite. Such great chemistry and freedom on that show."
