Jordan Devey, Former Super Bowl Champ Dies By Suicide, His Last Post For His Son Cash Surfaces

Football fans have been left heartbroken after it was announced that the former NFL guard Jordan Devey has passed away. According to reports, he was 38 years old at the time of his death. What makes the news of Jordan’s death even more tragic is that he died by suicide. As fans mourn his loss, Jordan’s last post about his son before his passing has surfaced. 

Jordan Devey’s last post before his death was for his son, Cash

Jordan Devey's tragic death has left fans taking to his social media to share their tributes. Now, a post that he had shared on Instagram before his death featuring a picture of his son, Cash, is grabbing attention. The picture shows his son in an Idaho baseball uniform with a glove in one hand while throwing a ball into the air with his other hand. He could also be seen wearing a gold chain with a big dollar sign. 

Cash stood in front of a black backdrop with smoke and several bills flying through the air. In the caption of the post, Jordan wrote, “Big Cash Money #ignite10 #idahobaseball.” 

Taking to the comment section, fans appreciated the shot and its edits. One user wrote, “Unintentionally the hardest edits ever.” Another wrote, “Those are some sick shots.” A third user penned, “Hopefully you taught him the knuckleball.” They could not stop loving how supportive Jordan was of his son and his journey as a baseball player, even though Cash did not choose football like him. 

Jordan Devey's death by suicide 

While in the NFL, Jordan has played for some of the top teams like the Ravens, Chiefs, Patriots, and Bills. The sad news of the former football star’s death was first announced by his wife, Linsey. On his GoFundMe page, it was revealed that he had died by suicide. The post can be read as: 

“Tragically, Jordan took his own life, leaving his family to navigate an incredibly difficult and heartbreaking time. As they face overwhelming emotional and financial challenges, including mounting medical expenses, the community is coming together to support Linsey and their children. The funds raised will help ease the financial burden, allowing them to focus on healing and moving forward without the added stress of immediate expenses.”

Linsey shared an Instagram post in honor of Jordan Devey, including a photo of her leaning over her husband in a hospital bed, along with a photo of the duo seemingly taken on their wedding day, where Jordan can be seen kissing his wife's cheek. Over the years, they welcomed four children, and Jordan died on the couple's 15th anniversary. In the heartbreaking note, Linsey wrote:

“We have filled the walls of our homes and hearts with countless memories, joys, struggles, and triumphs. We brought 4 beautiful children into this world that have your eyes, freckles, and compassion. You were our hero, and our hearts ache in your absence. We love you. We miss you. And as you said in your last words to me, ‘we’ll talk soon.’ Please, if you are able, donate to our fund to ease the financial burdens that weigh heavy on our hearts.”

As soon as Linsey posted this, fans began showing their support for her and their family. One user wrote, “Linsey, words fail me. We are here for you and lifting you and your family up in prayer every day. May you feel God's presence supporting you through each moment until you see Jordan again.”

Another wrote, “My condolences to you and your family. He was a good man and teammate.” A comment read, “Heartbreaking. I am praying for you and your babies, praying for comfort during the hardest days.”
