The producer of the popular show, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Asit Modi is finally facing the heat from the judiciary system as Mumbai police have lodged an FIR against him. After a s series of complaints and shocking revelations against Asit Modi, Sohail Rahmani, and Jatin Bajaj, Mumbai police have initiated an investigation against the three major names associated with the show, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.
It was on June 19, 2023, when the Powai police registered a case against Asit Kumarr Modi, who is the producer of the popular sitcom, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. Not only this, along with Asit, Sohail Ramani, who is the Operations Head and Jatin Bajaj, who is the Executive Producer of the show, have been booked under severe charges. The case has been filed under sections 354 and 509 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

For the unversed, IPC section 354 stands for assault of criminal force on a woman intending to outrage her modesty, whereas IPC 509 stands for sexual harassment. The complaint was lodged by actress, Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, who is known for her portrayal of ‘Mrs. Roshan Singh Sodhi’ in TMKOC.
As per a report in ETimes, Mumbai police has not made any arrests so far in the case. However, the police clearly stated that the investigation was going on in the matter, and soon an action would be taken in the case. The report further stated that, as of now, there are doubts over whether Asit Modi will be called in order to record his statement in the case or not. It is a huge personal win for Jennifer Mistry Bansiwala, because most of the time, people sidelined her revelations in the name of a publicity stunt.

As soon as the news of Mumbai police lodging an FIR against Asit Modi, Sohail Ramani, and Jatin Bajaj made its way on the internet, Jennifer Mistry Bansiwala was quick to react on the same. In an interview with Pinkvilla, the actress revealed that she was called to the police station, and after a conversation of almost 5 hours, police registered an FIR against Asit Modi, Sohail Ramani, and Jatin Bajaj. Jennifer also revealed that the cops told her to cooperate with them during the investigation as she would be called whenever they needed some information regarding the case. She said:
"I was called to the police station yesterday (Monday, June 19) evening. I reached there at 7:30 PM and I was there till 12:30 AM, and finally, the FIR has been registered. I've been told by the cops that they will call me whenever they need any information next. The law will take its course, whatever I could do, I have done. Mainly, the FIR has been registered because it was stuck for the past many days, and that's a huge thing."
In the same interview, Jennifer Mistry Bansiwala admitted that she’s relieved that action has been taken against Asit Modi, Jatin Bajaj and Sohail Ramani. However, she also added that she’s not happy with how things are unfolding but admitted that everything is happening because this is what God has written for them.
