Meanwhile, the Bachchan bahu, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, has been garnering a lot of attention for her alleged separation from her husband, Abhishek Bachchan.
Aishwarya Rai married Abhishek Bachchan on April 20, 2007, at the Bachchan residence, Jalsa, in an intimate wedding ceremony. Time and again reports about her sweet and sour relationship with the Bachchan clan hit the headlines, irking her fans. However, not many know that once the veteran actress-turned-politician, Jaya Bachchan opened up about sharing some burden with her daughter-in-law, Aishwarya, but her daughter, Shweta warned her not to do so.

It happened when Jaya Bachchan, along with her daughter, Shweta Bachchan, appeared on one of the episodes of Karan Johar’s chat show, Koffee With Karan. The episode dates back to the time when Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai were all set to tie the knot. During the same, Karan Johar talked to Jaya Bachchan about the feeling of becoming a mother-in-law and remarked that she would have Aishwarya Rai to take some of the burdens off her shoulders. KJo said:
“Now you’ll be sharing some of the issues with your daughter-in-law. There will be Ash, who will come and take some of the burdens off your shoulders.”
Responding to the same, Jaya Bachchan gave an affirmative response and said that she was looking forward to sharing her burden with Aishwarya Rai. Jaya was heard saying:
“Hopefully. I am hoping that she will take a lot more than just ‘some.”
However, it looked like Shweta Bachchan was unhappy with her mother’s remark about sharing her burden with her daughter-in-law, Aishwarya Rai, and she instantly reacted to it. Shweta looked off, and she quickly warned Jaya not to do so, as it might look scary and intimidating. Shweta said:
“Don’t do that mom. It’s scary and intimidating. Slowly ease her into it. It’s not that hard.”

Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai’s royal wedding was incredibly intimate and very selective people were invited to the ceremony. In 2010, when Abhishek graced the cult show, Koffee With Karan, he explained the reason behind his private wedding. Recalling how his ailing grandmother was in the hospital and how it had made them feel upset, the actor had said:
“People are forgetting a major reason why our family wanted to keep it intimate. I had an ailing grandmother in hospital and my father said, ‘You know, we do not feel good about going out there and having a good celebration’. Did I want to invite? Did her family want to invite the whole world? Yes. Our parents, altogether, sent out a card seeking the blessings of everybody.”
