The actor had recently conducted an Ask Me Anything session on Instagram. A fan had asked the actor if he had a girlfriend. Jay compared his life to that of Salman Khan's and said that he is living a bachelor life.

Jay Bhanushali, Mahhi Vij's ex-husband, opened up about whether he currently has a girlfriend. The actor gave a witty response, revealing that the weather in Mumbai is romantic and that one feels like listening to Emraan Hashmi's songs and watching his films. However, the actor is living a bachelor life like Salman Khan. In his words:
"Kyun dukhti nas daba rahe ho… Emraan Hashmi ke mausam mein Salman Khan wali zindagi jee raha hun.”
A fan further asked Jay Bhanushali, "Their daughter Tara Bhanushali stays with whom?" The actor and TV host replied that Tara mostly stays with her mom and sometimes with her as well. Well, Jay's witty earlier reply clearly indicated that he is one of the most eligible bachelors in Bollywood.
For the unversed, Jay Bhanushali and Mahhi Vij got married in 2011, and they separated in 2026. The ex-pair continue to co-parent their daughter, Tara. Jay has made his relationship status very clear. The ex-couple had a dreamy love story, and on Rajeev Khandelwal’s television show, Tum Ho Na, Mahhi shared that she and Jay are friends.

Jay Bhanushali and his ex-wife, Mahhi Vij, are also parents to two foster kids- Khushi and Rajveer. The former couple is very close to their daughter, Tara. The actress had revealed that Jay does come home and spend time with Mahhi's dad. In her words:
"My father still visits and has tea with Jay, and Jay also comes over. We share a very good relationship, and I am glad there is no bitterness between us. We are still connected like a family and there for each other.”
Jay Bhanushali and Mahhi Vij had announced their divorce via a joint statement on social media. He had revealed his commitment to prioritising the well-being of their kids and also requested privacy and kindness during this phase. The joint statement read:
"Today, we choose to part ways on a journey called life, yet we continue to have each other’s backs. Peace, growth, kindness, and humanity have always been our guiding values. For the sake of our children, Tara, Khushi, and Rajveer, we commit to being the best parents, the best friends, and whatever else it takes to do what is right for them.”
The statement further read that the couple is walking separate paths, that there is no villain in this story, and that there is no negativity attached to this decision. Before any conclusions are drawn, please know that we choose peace over drama and sanity above all else. A part of the statement also read:
"We continue to respect one another, support one another, and remain friends, as we always have been. With mutual respect, we ask for your respect, love, and kindness as we move forward. Mahhi Vij & Jay Bhanushali."
Mahhi Vij, in another statement, had said that neither Jay nor his parents had made any dowry demands. She had recalled that she considered herself fortunate because, when she asked Jay’s mother and the rest of the family what they wanted, their only response was that even if she did not bring any clothes, that was perfectly fine.
