A while ago, the actor took to his Instagram Stories and made a collaborative post along with his estranged wife, announcing their divorce. He shared that they will remain friends and co-parent their three kids, Tara, Khushi and Rajveer. He mentioned that they will do their best for their kids. On January 4, 2026, Jay Bhanushali took to his Instagram Stories and shared a joint post along with his ex-wife, Mahhi Vij. In the note, Jay mentioned that he and Mahhi are parting ways. However, they will be the best parents, best friends and whatever else will be needed for their three children, Tara, Khushi and Rajveer. For the unversed, the couple welcomed their first child, Tara, on August 3, 2019 and are foster parents to Khushi and Rajveer. The first part of the note can be read as:

"Today, we choose to part ways on a journey called life, yet we continue to have each other’s back. Peace, growth, kindness, and humanity have always been our guiding values. For the sake of our children - Tara, Khushi, Rajveer, we commit to being the best parents, the best friends, and whatever else it takes to do what is right for them."

Further in the note, Jay wrote that although they are now on separate paths, there was no villain in their story, and no negativity is linked to their decision to part ways. He mentioned that they chose peace over drama. He highlighted that they will continue respecting and supporting each other and remain friends as they have always. It is noteworthy to mention that Mahhi and Jay took this decision after nearly 16 years of marriage years of their marriage. According to multiple reports, Jay and Mahhi tied the knot secretly in 2010. The concluding part of the note can be read as:

"Though we walk separate paths, there is no villain in this story and no negativity attached to this decision. Before any conclusions are drawn, please know that we choose peace over drama and sanity above all else.
