One such daughter is Janhvi Kapoor, who is not just a reflection of her mother, Sridevi but a mirror image of her. Janhvi carries the same poise and composure like her mother, Sridevi. Sometime back, Anil Kapoor had tweeted the vacuum that Sridevi had left behind and how her daughters are filling her space in their father’s life. His tweet could be read as “Not a day goes by when we don’t miss you Sri. We see your reflection in #JanhviKapoor & #KhushiKapoor every day” was not just restricted to the Kapoor family, Sridevi’s sudden demise has left her fans in shock and is considered as one of the biggest losses of Bollywood.
Janhvi, who is a spitting image of her mother has often shared that her mother was like a friend to her and she misses her a lot. After the sudden demise of her mother, Janhvi made sure to stand like a pillar of strength for her father. She made sure to fill in the void that her mother left in their lives. Janhvi recently took to her Instagram handle and posted a throwback picture of her parents on her Instagram stories. Take a look:
Janhvi had gotten emotional at the Vogue Beauty Awards 2018 where she had walked the ramp sans her mother. Janhvi had expressed, “It’s a special feeling. But it’s a little weird too because I’m so used to accompanying mom and dad to these things… I always had their hands to hold. So, I don’t know whose hand to hold. I am a little nervous.”
Years back, Janhvi had written a heartfelt letter for Sridevi and had shared how proud she was of her mother. She had stated, “Dear Mom, growing up hearing about your aura, dedication, sincerity and inspirational grit to be the best and achieve the most always made me wish I was present to witness it all. Through all that you have done in your life, you have made me the proudest daughter in the world, and I love you the most. Janhvi and Sridevi were really close like any mother-daughter duo. Janhvi had once shared to a media portal, "I could always be the baby with her. When I’d wake up, the first thing I’d do was ask for her. I’d need her to put me to sleep sometimes and she literally had to feed me. The day before she left for the wedding, I had to shoot, but I couldn’t sleep, so I was like, “I need you to come and put me to sleep.""
On the work front, Janhvi has back to back releases with Gunjan Saxena’s biopic, Roohi Afza, Ghost Stories and the Dostana 2. Apart from all this, Janhvi will also be seen in a film produced by her father, Boney Kapoor which is titled Bombay Girl. According to a source, “It will see Janhvi in an all-new avatar. Undoubtedly, it’s going to be a special project for both, her as well as Boneyji. After all, the father-daughter duo is coming together for the first time. For the same film, Boneyji has joined hands with [producer] Mahaveer Jain.”
When asked Boney Kapoor about Janhvi teaming up with him, he revealed, “I am surely very excited about the film. Janhvi will be doing something completely different from what she is doing in all her other movies.” Mahaveer Jain, who is 'thrilled' to collaborate with Boney and Janhvi, added, “I can promise one thing that it will be an unforgettable story.”
Boney Kapoor also stated that he is emotional about Janhvi working with him for the first time and stated, “I feel whenever a parent works with his/her kids, it’s an emotional experience, and the same holds true for me.
