The plotline of Jana Nayagan

Jana Nayagan is a political action drama that follows the journey of 'Vetri Kondan' (played by Vijay Thalapathy). For those unaware, apart from Vijay Thalapathy, the movie also stars Bobby Deol, Manitha Baiju, Prakash Raj, Nasser, Priyamani, Narain, Sunil, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Revathi, Nizhalgal Ravi, Pooja Hedge and more.

‘Vetri’ is a fearless police officer, who has left his force but still continues to serve people as a social worker. The movie begins by showing 'Vetri's' personal and emotional side with his adopted daughter, 'Viji' (played by Manitha Baiju).

'Vetri' aims to see his adopted daughter, 'Viji' as a soldier; however, she is deeply affected by a traumatic incident that happened in her past. Their emotional father-daughter duo forms the heart of the movie. Apart from this, 'Vetri' finds himself in a difficult position.

A dangerous enemy named 'John Himler' (played by Bobby Deol) enters 'Vetri's' life with the intention to finish him. The biggest advantage that 'John' has is a corrupt 'Minister Rathore' (Prakash Raj). He uses his power and fear to stay in control. 'Vetri's' life takes a U-turn when a bomb blast takes place during a political party.

After the blast, everyone believes that 'Vetri' has died; however, he has survived and decides to stay underground. Staying away from the limelight, 'Vetri' quietly gathers information and evidence against the minister and 'John'.

He even enters 'Minister Rathore's' private data center and gathers proof of all the illegal activities including murders, riots, unfair deals and more that he has been a part of. This shows the intelligence and power of ‘Vetri’.

Jana Nayagan ending explained: Why did ‘Vetri’ reject the position of Chief Minister?

After gathering all the evidence against 'Minister Rathore' and 'John', 'Vetri' takes control of the broadcasting system and streams all the secret files on television channels, mobile phones and public screens. The live exposed the truth in front of the people. Right after the truth came out, thousands of people started to protest demanding justice.

It led to a major fight between 'Vetri' and 'Minister Rathore'. And at the end of it, 'Vetri' successfully defeated 'Rathore'. After this, even the police refused to support him, ultimately leading to his arrest. Eventually, all the political leaders offer 'Vetri' the post of Chief Minister. However, he refuses the position.

Explaining the reason behind it, 'Vetri' shared that a true leader doesn't need a throne to serve the people. The film ended with him choosing to serve the people silently without being a part of the political system. It is worth mentioning that the movie struck a chord among the audience as Vijay Thalapathy is currently the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

Coming to audience reviews, Jana Nayagan has been receiving mixed reviews. One user commented, "#JanaNayagan Vijay one man show and Anirudh super BGM goosebumps, overall janaNayagan  movie block buster loading." Another user wrote, "Watched #JanaNayagan #Thalapathy is as good as he has always been. @hegdepooja gets a good screen time and importance in the story. She looks so beautiful. #BobbyDeol is terrific, much more than Daaku maharaj. His entry sequence is very good."
