The show, Charlie’s Angels originally starred Kate Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, and Jaclyn Smith. At the end of Season 3, Kate departed, and Shelley Hack joined for Season 4. Later, in Season 5, Hack was replaced by Tanya Roberts. Jaclyn Smith, in her memoir, I Once Knew a Guy Named Charlie, revealed that her co-star Tanya had an open marriage with her husband, Barry Roberts.
She further shared an incident that took place while they were on a flight to Hawaii to shoot Charlie’s Angels. Tanya, who died on January 4, 2021, invited Jaclyn to join her and her husband, Barry Roberts, for a threesome. While Jaclyn declined Tanya’s invitation, she found the latter’s "honesty about her sexuality to be brave and self-aware."
Tanya and Barry were one of the most popular couples in Hollywood. They reportedly met while waiting in line outside a movie theatre in New York in the early 1970s. The duo began talking, developed a relationship, and within months everything turned serious. Tanya reportedly proposed to Barry rather than waiting for him to propose to her. She went down on one knee to propose to the man of her dreams in a New York subway station. Barry apparently said "yes."
According to a report by The Sun, after their whirlwind romance, Tanya and Barry tied the knot in 1974. They stayed together until Barry died in 2006. Barry, who kept his life low-profile, died on June 15, 2006, in Los Angeles at the age of 60. The couple didn’t have kids. Years after Barry passed away, Tanya began dating Lance C’Brien.

He said, "What makes a good marriage is a good wife and a husband who knows to say, 'I'm sorry,' and 'Yes, ma'am, you were right.'" Jaclyn quickly joined him and quipped, "See how smart he is? You know, he hugs and kisses me all day long. So, men out there, if you tune in, do it!"
