Jackie Shroff has carved his name gloriously in the history of Indian cinema, as one of the foremost action heroes ever. Despite being a complete outsider in Bollywood, the actor found his way to the hearts of millions of his fans. Informally known to many with his adorable nickname, ‘Jaggu Dada’, Jackie’s films has bagged him several accolades and awards. Even today, his mere presence in front of the audience creates a stir. In his personal life, the actor is married to his wife, Ayesha Shroff and they are blessed with a son, Tiger and a daughter, Krishna.
In an interaction with his daughter, Krishna Shroff on her YouTube channel, Jackie Shroff recalled the initial stages of his love story with wifey, Ayesha Shroff. The actor recalled meeting his ladylove’s family for the first time and remarked being rejected by Ayesha’s family instantly. He remarked that his clothes and appearance was shabby and admitted that no mother would ever want their daughter to marry a man like him. In his words:
“I remember walking in the door the first time I was dating your mother and I was wearing an open kind of T-shirt or sweater… which had holes, as many as you can count. And then I had long hippie hair, and a moustache and black pants and… I must have looked like no mother would accept this guy. That was the reason she got pulled. (She was told) ‘What are you doing with this kind of chap?'”

Moving further in the conversation, Jackie Shroff then revealed that after facing an initial rejection from Ayesha’s family, he started to tidy himself and dressed better. He revealed changing his style of clothing and speaking, in a way to impress his wife’s family, especially her mother. He mentioned:
“I sudhro-fied (straightened up) and I married her. I changed my clothes, started behaving myself, started cleaning my nails, started brushing my teeth. I started looking presentable. And then I went and I said ‘Now can I marry your daughter?'”
Ending the series of anecdotes, the talented actor admitted that his initial appearance at his then-girlfriend, Ayesha’s house wasn’t at all a decent one. He even defended his mother-in-law’s primary dismissal of him so as to marry her daughter, as he believed that he didn’t look the correct type of guy a girl would date. Jackie Shroff then revealed how his mother-in-law took time to adjust to his personality and sense of style.

In a previous interview with Zoom Entertainment, Jackie Shroff’s darling wife, Ayesha Shroff opened up about the past, when her mother had been completely against her decision to find love in a man like the actor. While the duo was keen on getting married, their relationship faced considerable rejection from Ayesha’s mother, who wasn’t impressed with Jackie’s look and personality, especially his bad boy image. Talking more on it, she had revealed:
“When I started dating my husband, my mother had completely banned it because he was like ‘Jaggu dada’. And then of course there are people who fill your ears and say ‘he is such a bad boy.’ So I used to sneak out and meet him.”
