What makes the news even more tragic is that he was only 44 years old at the time of his death. Notably, it was Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling who announced the sad news of Joe Doering's death.
It was on Friday morning, June 26, 2026, that Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling took to its social media channels to reveal that Joe Doering had passed away. In a statement, they revealed that he had passed away at the age of 44 and heralded his spirit, strength, and courage. Joe Doering is survived by his wife, Lindsay. The statement can be read as:
"At 9:13 a.m. today, June 26, our brother Joe Doering passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family. Though his time on this earth lasted only 44 years, Joe packed a thousand years’ worth of living into every one of them. Joe is survived by his beloved wife, Lindsay, his family, and leaves behind countless friends and devoted fans around the world who will forever remember his strength, courage, and spirit. Rest in peace, Joe. You will never be forgotten."

Just a few days before Joe Doering passed away, his sister-in-law, Mandy Banh, revealed on his GoFundMe page that the wrestling star was heading to hospice care amid his third battle with Brain cancer. She said that she was sad to share the news, but if anyone was local and wanted to visit, they could send her a message. According to her, Joe could use all their good thoughts and prayers.

For those unaware, Joe Doering had been diagnosed with a brain tumour almost a decade ago, in 2016. In 2022, Joe revealed that the disease had returned and that he was planning to undergo further surgery for the same. In November 2025, Mandy launched a GoFundMe for the wrestler and revealed that he was battling with his third brain tumour. Going into details about what Joe had gone through since his second diagnosis, she said:
“After Joe’s last brain surgery in 2022, located on his brain stem, he developed ataxia on his right side, which has greatly impacted his mobility. Joe works very hard with physiotherapy; however, he mostly uses his wheelchair in his day-to-day life, requiring assistance when using stairs, a walker, and any transitioning. This has been a great change, as one would imagine, from being a professional sports athlete.”

Many added that despite battling brain cancer, it did not break his spirits and he continued to remain focused through it all. She said that Joe chose to go through this journey very privately. In her words:

“However despite this great challenge, Joe has remained determined, focused, and most of all- in good spirits! He chooses not to feel sorry for himself and battles his journey very privately. I feel after 10 years, to show Joe more love- that he still has support and encouragement- will help him embark on this latest battle!”
Joe had a brief developmental deal with WWE back in 2010. However, he was best known for his stint in All Japan Pro Wrestling. For those unaware, here, Joe had won the Triple Crown title on two occasions. In 2020, he began his latest run in TNA as a member of Violet by Design. TNA is all set to return to PPV this weekend with Slammiversary, with the event scheduled to take place in Boston on Sunday afternoon, June 28, 2026. As of now, there is no word about whether Joe Doering's company will honour him in some fashion during the event.

Rest in peace, Joe Doering.
