However, amid that, a report has revealed that the actress was planning on visiting her daughter before her death.

Hayden Panettiere had allegedly planned to visit her daughter, Kaya, in Ukraine before her tragic passing on August 16, 2026. The actress's hairstylist and good friend, Erick Orellana, spoke to Page Six and revealed that the last time he saw Hayden, she was excited to take a break and see her daughter. He recalled:
"I last saw her a few months ago. She was talking about how she wanted to take a vacation, and that she wanted to go and see her daughter. Her daughter was always her absolute priority. She loved her so much."
Erick Orellana further shared that Hayden Panettiere loved spending time with her daughter Kaya. The hairstylist, who had worked with the actress for three years, revealed that she would always show off the pre-teen's photos and tell him stories about her. Erick called the actress' passing heartbreaking and said:
"Her daughter was the absolute light of her life. She lit up when she spoke about her. Everything she did revolved around her. I can't imagine that this is anything but accidental because she just loved her daughter and would never have left her."
For the unversed, Hayden Panettiere shared a daughter with ex-fiancé Wladimir Klitschko. The couple welcomed their baby girl in 2014. However, the actress gave up Kaya's custody to her father amid her battle with postpartum depression and addiction. Following that, Waldimir brought Kaya to Ukraine, where she lives a stable life with her dad. The Ice Princess star had maintained an amicable relationship with Klitschko, whom she dated from 2009 to 2018.

Hayden also gushed about her and Kaya's "really intense, incredible bond" in one of her final interviews, leading up to her death. While the actress was no longer living with Kaya, they shared an incredibly strong bond. In a conversation with Jay Shetty on his podcast in May 2026, Hayden Panettiere reflected on the speculations around her relationship with her daughter and said:
"I go travel as much as I can. I see her. I do spend a lot of time on FaceTime with her, but we talk about really deep things. I mean, the idea that anybody would think that I would just give away my child and be OK with it is heartbreaking. Couldn't be further from the truth. That was incredibly difficult. The fact that my child wasn't going to be with me all day, every day was...you can't put it into words."
In an old interview with Entertainment Weekly, Hayden Panettiere had once again reflected on her bond with her daughter. When asked how she reflected on her child stardom now that she had a daughter of her own, the actress shared that Kaya could finally say she's "proud of what I have accomplished in my career." She further added that Kaya was the reason why, "I think my daughter's really proud of me, and when she gets to watch certain things that I'm in, it means the world to me."
While Erick Orellana has alleged that Hayden Panettiere was happy and positive in the months leading up to her passing, other sources have noted that Hayden Panettiere had a lot on her plate. While there is confirmation of what happened, early reports have alleged that the actress passed away from an overdose-induced cardiac arrest.
