Reports revealed that her alleged boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, was with her at the time of her passing. And now, reports have gone rife, citing that Brian allegedly sent Hayden threatening text messages after his 2020 arrest for domestic battery, years before she spoke out about forgiving him.

Hayden Panettiere's boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, allegedly sent her threatening text messages after his 2020 arrest for domestic battery. According to the court records obtained by TMZ, years before she spoke out about forgiving him, Brian sent Hayden threats after his arrest. For the unversed, Brian was arrested on February 14, 2020, after he allegedly struck Hayden in the face with a closed fist at an Airbnb in Wyoming.
Reports revealed that officers found Brian Hickerson intoxicated and locked out of the home. Hayden Panettiere further told the officers that her boyfriend had roughed her up in the bedroom, and the cops reported that the actress's face was red and swollen. She also had a mark they believed may have been caused by Brian's watch. The actor was arrested for domestic violence, months after his arrest in California for previously assaulting Hayden.
The California charges were dropped after Hayden Panettiere refused to testify. In a probable cause affidavit connected to the Wyoming arrest, cops found that Hayden's lawyer had called Wyoming authorities, claiming that Brian had contacted Hayden, despite a court order prohibiting him from doing so. The lawyer even passed on emails with screenshots of texts, missed phone calls and short video clips, which cops say show Brian using threatening language.
Brian Hickerson sent a number of threatening texts to the actress. One of them read, "Time to go to war I guess." Another said, "After Wyoming and LA disappear, so do the videos." A long text was quoted as saying, "Even if I sit in a jail cell for ten years. All of the stuff that is vaulted overseas with my people will come out the second I set foot in prison. And all that does is hurt your name while clearing mine. And at that point, who actually cares?" A text read:
"Say something, Hayd, so I don't get defensive and start firing off emails to people to get ready...I thought his legal stuff would magically disappear...we gotta figure something out, buddy."
The police believed the texts were evidence that Brian was trying to intimidate Hayden into dropping the case. They cited a text that read, "It is very simple, it is a very simple fix, between you and me, you gotta make one phone call." Whereas another read, "I don't want to go to court for you. I will be f***ing fine in court, trust me, it's for you."
What happened after Brian Hickerson's arrest?
Brian Hickerson was initially sentenced to about a year in jail for the incident. However, the judge suspended the sentence and ordered him to serve a year on probation. At the time, Hayden Panettiere took a stern stand against Brian and the abuse she endured. In 2022, she spoke about reconnecting with the actor and said:
"None of it is OK, and I want to make sure that everybody knows that. But I am open to people who are willing to get help and make amends. He's gone to treatment and done his time. And I'm trying to live in a place of forgiveness."
The couple had allegedly been in touch on and off ever since, and reports have now revealed that it was just two weeks before her passing that Hayden Panettiere connected with Brian again. He was reportedly asleep in the bedroom when Hayden died. She was found dead by Brian's brother, Zack Hickerson.
