Govinda and Madhuri Dixit were one of the most-loved pairs of Bollywood. In fact, their fans too were absolutely in awe of their fantastic chemistry, and their dance moves together had raised the bar altogether. For the unversed, Madhuri and Govinda had come together in films like Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Izzatdaar, Maha-Sangram and Paap Ka Ant. While now it has been years since the duo has not crossed paths to create magic on the silver screen, but it seems Govinda has always remained faithful in his adoration for Madhuri.
In a recent interview with Bollywood Bubble along with his wife, Sunita Ahuja, Govinda opened up about all his co-actresses from his films and spoke about their graceful careers and never-ending beauty. Thereafter, in a rapid-fire session, when the actor was asked to reveal his favourite co-actresses, he was quick to respond it with Rekha and Madhuri. Moreover, Govinda also added a hilarious angle and mentioned that if he was not committed to his then-wife-to-be, Sunita, he would have definitely hit on Madhuri Dixit. In his words:
“Itne saal ka career hai in logo ka. And they are so beautiful and someone who is beautiful from inside, never run out of beauty. If you see, these people are the same as they were before. Sunita nahi hoti to pakka maine dore Madhuri ji pe daale hote.”

In another old interview with Bollywood Bubble, Govinda had once recalled the initial phase of his dating life with his wife, Sunita Ahuja. Speaking more about it, he also shared a funny moment when his mother had seriously warned him if he ever thought of leaving Sunita in his life. He had mentioned:
“Arey she told me if you ditch her, unhone bahut ganda lafz istemaal kara. Unhone kaha tu beekh maangegag agar tu ise dokha dega. I said, 'Aap itna pyaar karti hai.' Toh vo kehti sach vo laxmi hai."
In the same interview, Govinda’s wife, Sunita had also opened up about why back in the days the couple had chosen to keep their wedding a secret. For the unversed, the duo had gotten married in 1987, and at that time, the actor was at the peak of his career. Thus, they had decided to keep their wedding news under wraps since it was stereotypically believed that if an actor got married, his career would be finished.

Interestingly, when Govinda had married Sunita, the latter was just 15 years old, while he was 21. While it was surely a case of love at first sight, nevertheless, Govinda had his own apprehensions about moving ahead in a relationship with such a young partner. In an older interview, Govinda had expressed that he had thoughts about being tagged as a child molester if he would ended up marrying Sunita at that time.
