The pain of losing your close ones can never be described in words and as time passes, you only learn to live with it. In the year 2012, Bollywood actor, Ritiesh Deshmukh had lost the most important part of his life, his father and politician, Vilasrao Deshmukh. The entire nation was shocked when they had lost the then Chief Minister of Maharashtra. Ritiesh's entire world crumbled and in a second it had shattered when his father died of liver cancer on August 14, 2012. The actor drew a wall around him and never showed his feeling in public, he had vanished from the social scene. And while everyone was back to their life, the entire Deshmukh family felt the pain that can never be measured in numbers.
On August 14, 2019, Genelia Deshmukh, Bollywood actress and wife of Ritesh, took to her Instagram handle to remember her father-in-law. She shared a couple of pictures from the remembrance ceremony, and wrote, "Miss you Pappa every single day." Take a look at the pictures below:
In a 2013 interview with the DNA, Ritiesh had talked about coping with the huge loss. He had shared, "I don’t know how to answer that. It’s an irreparable loss. You can’t compare it to anything. It’s really strange that suddenly a person is not there in your life and then you realise — I won’t say value because as a child you always value your parents — how life will never be the same again. There is a huge void. Sometimes I still feel he is there." (Also Read: Boney Kapoor Reveals Interesting Details From Dating Phase With Sridevi, Breaks Down Remembering Her)
He had further shared, "Everyday I meet people who tell me things he did for them, experiences they shared with him... so we are reliving him through the experiences of people. I am fortunate that in his own way he has left a legacy for me to not miss him. I don’t know how to explain it but yet we miss him, even though he is everywhere."
In the same interview, Ritiesh had revealed how Genelia had been his pillar of support in that horrible time. He had stated, "Genelia. Not because I am married to her. That is irrespective but eventually, she is my strength, my support. To have someone who understands when you like to talk, and when you don’t, is incredible. I don’t like to talk about. I don’t talk. So even for her to sit next to me and share that silence was helpful. I value the silences more than the chats." Genelia is definitely the perfect example of a sanskari bahu!
