For the unversed, Akanksha revealed in the premiere episode of Lock Upp 2 that she and Gaurav were parting ways. She also mentioned that they were living separately for the past year and there were issues at the time of Bigg Boss 19.
During the family week of Bigg Boss 19, the duo seemed lost in love, but in reality things were different. Now, in an interview, Akanksha broke her silence for the first time on the alimony buzz.
Akanksha Chamola dismisses rumours of taking Rs. 10 crore alimony from her husband, Gaurav Khanna
Recently, Akanksha Chamola sat for a candid interview with Mashable India. During the interview, Akanksha was asked whether she was seeking Rs. 10 crore as alimony from her husband and TV actor Gaurav Khanna. She dismissed the rumours and shared that if she had so much money, she would have left the country. She clarified that she has not sought such a huge amount as alimony. She was quoted as saying:
"Agar manga hota aur agar mil gaya hota to main yaha baithti. Agar sach me mere pas itne paise hote na to main kab ka ye desh chor kar chali gayi hoti."
During the same interview, Akanksha Chamola also addressed the trolls who have labelled her as a "sugar daddy seeker" as she got married to then 34-year-old Gaurav at the age of 24. Indirectly referring to her estranged husband, Gaurav, Akanksha shared that someone who is 10 years older cannot be a sugar daddy. Further, in the interview, Akanksha spoke about why she didn’t change her Instagram username, "AkankshaGKhanna". She said, "Meta wale kar nahi rahe hain."
Gaurav Khanna’s fellow contestant on Khatron Ke Khiladi Season 15, Orry, came in support of the Anupamaa actor amid his divorce from Akanksha Chamola. The influencer shared that Akanksha is using Gaurav’s name to gain fame and attention. He also slammed her for speaking badly about Gaurav on national television. Orry pointed out that Akanksha’s comparison between her dog and her husband, Gaurav, was very disrespectful.
Orry mentioned that he does not think Akanksha is a good person. He stated that Akanksha seemed less bothered about her estranged husband’s opinion. Further, in the interview, Orry shared that he believed Akanksha would surely take alimony from Gaurav. He said:
"I'm sure she's going to squeeze him for something. So, at which point, if paying your bills is a reason to care about what the person says, then maybe she should care a bit about how she talks about him publicly."

Gaurav Khanna and Akanksha Chamola tied the knot on November 24, 2016, in a three-day wedding celebration in Kanpur, Gaurav’s hometown. The couple did not embrace parenthood, as Akanksha considered motherhood a huge responsibility, and she was not ready for it. During a conversation with Malti Chahar and stand-up comedian Pranit More inside the Bigg Boss 19 house, Akanksha shared that she had plenty of reasons not to embrace motherhood.
Akanksha mentioned that she has to build her career and is very ambitious. However, Gaurav wanted to be a father all the time. But he chose to prioritise Akanksha’s wish not to have kids. In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Gaurav added that he wanted to respect his wife’s decision. He explained that when a woman is not ready, then a person should never force her. He then clarified that Akanksha also loves kids, but she has her own reasons for not embracing motherhood.
