Garrett Graham And Hannah Wells Might Bring Deja Vu Of Lara Jean And Peter, But They Are Poles Apart

Prime Video's Off Campus has been stuck to its fans' hearts, heads and emotions and whatnot. People have been waiting for season two to hit the screens soon. Off Campus deals with the Briar University students. The series is based on Elle Kennedy's popular Off-Campus sports romance book series. The first season was based on the first book, The Deal. The second season will hit the screens seemingly in 2027; however, there's no official confirmation about the same, as of now.

Well, the hangover of season 1 is still there, and some of the fans obviously got a deja vu. Well, it's more about the fans of the movie series, To All The Boys I've Loved Before. For the fans of the movie series to watch the Prime Series was something that they felt like, 'Wait! I've seen this before'. 

Where do To All The Boys and Off Campus align, and where do they differ?

The love story between 'Garrett Graham-Hannah Wells' in Off Campus, and the bond between 'Lara Jean and 'Peter Kavinsky', as it seems to run on a similar timeline, but there are several differences as well. Speaking of the similarities, 'Hannah' and 'Garrett' bonded over fake dating, while 'Lara' and 'Peter' also started with a fake dating set up. While in Off Campus, 'Hannah' wanted her crush 'Justin's attention, in To All The Boys, 'Peter' wanted to make his ex, jealous.

With this, social media users found out how there were several scenic similarities between these two couples, where in both cases, there was a 'no-kissing policy'. Another scene in To All The Boys, showed 'Peter' snapping 'Lara's phone to click a photo to save to his contact, is identical to one of the Off-Campus scenes as well. There are brief breakups in both cases; however, the reasons differ. In To All The Boys, the breakup was caused by misunderstanding, jealousy and teen issues, and they fixed their issues over time, while in Off Campus, the breakup was something that 'Hannah' had to do due to 'Garrett's parent, but they actually solved it eventually with mutual understanding.

Both 'Peter' and 'Garrett' are in sports. Well, people have been calling 'Graham' a spicier version of 'Peter' from To All The Boys. However, as 'Peter' was shown as someone who cares deeply about his ex, 'Garrett' is someone who doesn't bother about others, and doesn't do 'girlfriends' with genuinely saying 'you deserve someone better, which I am not', well, until 'Hannah' came. 

It's just that while To All The Boys deals with a high-school romance, which is sweeter in form, Off Campus deals with college romance, where there is open conversation about sex and intimacy. In Off Campus, 'Hannah' and 'Garrett' deal with some dark phases of their lives, with the former's sexual abuse in high school and the latter's complex bond with one of the abusive parents. In To All The Boys, the communication between 'Peter' and 'Lara' brought a few issues with struggles to open up, while in 'Garrett' and 'Hannah's case, the bond between them was genuine, and it was a mature version. 

Is Off Campus a recreation to To All The Boys?

So, while people have been asking whether Off Campus recreated To All The Boys, the answer is clearly 'no'. Yes, there are certain similarities, but the couple are each other's endgame, even after a few breakups. While there are similarities, there are several differences as well, so it's not wrong to say that certain portions have a few similarities, but the emotional arcs between the characters and the plot totally differ from each other.
