Esha Deol and Bharat Takhtani’s marital paradise became a part of the gossip columns ever since reports about the possibility of their separation surfaced on the internet. Reportedly, Bharat’s constant absence from public appearances and social media posts with Esha sparked the gossip. However, it all came true when the duo issued a joint statement, as reported by Delhi Times, wherein they confirmed having gone separate ways, after an amicable decision.
In one of her old interviews with Filmfare, right after her wedding with Bharat Takhtani, Esha Deol opened up about her newly married life. The doting wifey revealed how her husband doesn’t want her to put on any weight and as a result, the couple have decided to join yoga classes together. In her words:
“Bharat doesn’t want me to put on weight. We’ll soon be joining ashtanga yoga classes.”

In the same conversation, Esha Deol also talked about her experiences of being the new bahu at the Takhtani household and revealed the advise she got from her mother, Hema Malini. Esha mentioned how the latter asked her to wakeup before her husband every morning at her in-laws’ place and contribute duly to the household chores, along with her mother-in-law. Adding how Hema Malini also suggested her to not give up on her dance practice, Esha said:
“There’s mom’s never ending advise – you shouldn’t be sleeping late, you’ve got to wake up before your husband, help your mother-in-law, don’t give up your dance practice.”
The interaction was concluded with some candid revelations made by Esha’s husband, Bharat Takhtani. The businessman couldn’t help but praise his darling wifey for taking good care of him and his family’s needs. Bharat remarked that although Esha outwardly appears to be tomboyish, she is, on the contrary, extremely gharelu. Revealing how the actress prepared him his favourite dish, Bharat mentioned:
“She takes care of my mother, her moods, she’s gelled so well. Actually, Esha’s always been gharelu though she liked to believe she was the boy of the house. She’s caring and responsible. She’s aware of what keeps me happy. I’m a foodie, I live to eat. And she sees to it that my favourite dishes are prepared at home. In fact, for someone who didn’t know how to make chai, just the other day, she cooked Khow Suey."

It was on February 6, 2024, when Esha Deol and Bharat Takhtani formally announced their separation. In a joint statement issued through Delhi Times, the couple revealed that taking such a huge decision in their live was mutual and amicable. Moreover, they claimed that this step was taken, keeping in mind the well-being of their daughters. The statement can be read as:
“We have mutually and amicably decided to part ways. Through this shift in our lives, the best interests and welfare of our two children is and will be of utmost importance to us. We’d appreciate our privacy is respected.”
