The Deol family has been hitting the headlines for some time now. While Dharmendra impressed everyone with his performance in Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, Sunny Deol made a power-packed comeback with the record-shattering film, Gadar 2. Meanwhile, Esha Deol’s short film, Ek Duaa received a special mention in the non-feature film category at the National Awards 2023. However, Hema Malini, who was last seen in the 2020 film, Shimla Mirchi, has been missing from the big screen for some time now.
Esha Deol made a comeback with Ajay Devgn’s show, Rudra: The Edge Of Darkness, in 2022. Now in an interview with News18, the actress opened up about her mother, Hema Malini making a comeback on the big screen and revealed that she has been pushing her to do so. In her words:
“I’ve been pushing my mother to make a comeback. I’ve been doing it forever! In fact, she too wants to do films again.”

Esha also went on to reveal that her mom, Hema Malini has been wanting to return to the big screen for a while, and she has even read some scripts. Mentioning that the latter is looking at some good roles and scripts, the loving daughter asked people to contact her mother if they have something good for her. Esha said:
“She’s looking at some good roles and scripts. She’s the kind of person who says that only if something very good comes her way will she step out and go back in front of the camera. If anyone has something good for my mom, they should shoot her a call.”
Esha Deol was also asked to reveal if they have a lot of conversations at home about work, considering they have so many actors in the family. Responding to the same, the actress mentioned that they have a creative family and all of them belong to the same profession and added:
“We do discuss work because ours is a creative family. It’s so nice for us all to belong to the same profession. There’s a lot of takeaway and a lot of stuff you can talk about.”

Further in the interview, Esha Deol talked about how her father, Dharmendra personally asked for everyone’s opinion before starting work on the film, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, Esha said that her father has a child-like excitement. She also revealed that whenever Dharmendra starts a new project, he shows them pictures from his look tests and costumes and added:
“Whenever my dad starts a new project, he’ll show us pictures from his look tests and costumes. He did the same for Taj: Divided By Blood and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. He still has that child-like excitement. And that really peps us up. There’s a constant give and take between all of us.”
