Dolly and Rebecca also loved travelling together with her aunt. In her words:
"Today, I embark on a new journey: a life without my most trusted confidant. My best friend, my favorite adventurer, my name-giver, my godmother, my precious Aunt Granny. I know she has been welcomed into the mystic by Carl and my Mamaw Avie Lee. She is now on her most important celestial journey with God, and I know she is at peace."
Rebecca further continued that she is grateful to have experienced the magic of Dolly's presence in her life and also the lives she touched. Rebecca shared that it is her absolute honor to pay tribute to her aunty and narrate her beautiful story to the world. Dolly's niece further wrote:
"Her legacy is the joy she brought and will continue to bring to all of us. While we mourn this incredible loss, I want us all to remember that joy and grief exist together. This is a celebration of a beautiful life, lived unapologetically and with the most incredible heart. She never left a rhinestone or a dream unturned, and I am so proud to carry those shining dreams forward."
The Country icon's niece, in the end, stated how Dolly will forever be "shining down" on the family and "flying with butterflies." She spoke of missing her favorite aunt and loving her endlessly. Rebecca's fans felt sorry for her immeasurable loss. A fan wrote, "Been thinking about your whole family. Dolly was the most special person on this planet; thank you for sharing a little bit of her with us."
