Ananya Panday is one of the most sought-after divas in Tinseltown. Daughter of actor, Chunky Panday, Ananya had made her debut in 2019 with the film, Student Of The Year 2. Being one of the coolest star kids on the block, she has carved her own niche in the world of cinema, and has grabbed all the attention for the same. Currently, the actress is on a promotional spree for her new release Dream Girl 2, where she plays the lead opposite Ayushmann Khurrana.
Currently, Ananya Panday is soaking all the appreciation for her recently released film, Dream Girl 2. The film got released on August 25, 2023, and the audience has been pouring all their love and applause for the same. However, it seems that while the film has received sweeping positive reviews from several film critics, it has been Ananya’s performance, which has failed to impress the audience. Well, notable film critic, Taran Adarsh took to the social media platform, X(formerly known as Twitter) and gave a clear verdict on the same. However, he also pointed out at Ananya Panday’s portion in the film, which failed to hit the mark. He mentioned:
“On the flip side, the writing could’ve been sharper at places [the restaurant sequence is over-stretched] and the romantic portions #AyushmannKhurrana - #AnanyaPanday lack fizz.

However, it seems Ananya Panday has overlooked the part of the review which indicates negative performance on her part. Proof of the same was found when she took to her IG stories and shared a screengrab of Taran’s review. On a closer look, the part that speaks about Ananya’s performance could not be seen in the same.
Well, eagle-eyed netizens were quick to take note of Ananya Panday’s social media post, which omits the actual review, where her performance in Dream Girl 2 was cited as ‘lacking the fizz’. Taking to the discussion forum, Reddit, a user started a thread on the same, and pointed out how Ananya cropped the crucial comment about her performance. Other netizens, took to the comment section of the thread and started bashing the actress for the same. While one user wrote, “Apni movie ki bad publicity kaun karega?”, another commented, “Offcourse bichari criticism thodi dikhayegi. And most likely this was her team posting reviews.”
In one of her previous interviews with Lifestyle Asia Magazine, Ananya Panday opened up about some candid revelations of her life. When she was asked to reveal that one perception she would want to change among her audience, who see her in a different light, the diva mentioned that she would want everyone to know her real personality. In her words:
“I want people to see a different side of me, especially on screen. I feel people associate our off-screen personas with the characters that we play. For example, if they see one interview of mine, they’ll judge my entire being based on that interview. So I wish people would realise that’s not my entire personality.”
