Mike Vrabel Spoke To Dianna Russini About 'Protecting Family' Once It's Built, A Year Ago, 'I Can..'

Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini have been hitting the headlines for a long time now. The couple who were known for their professional spaces mostly started hitting the headlines with their personal lives. Mike and Dianna's photos from the Arizona hotel created a buzz, which continued to swirl around with some more old photos hitting the headlines.

Mike and Dianna have chosen to protect their peace, and while the former chose counselling, the latter decided to stay away from social media. There is no denying the fact that this entire controversy might have taken a toll on their respective families. And amid this, an old interview of Dianna and Mike surfaced, wherein the latter spoke about protecting a family when built.

Mike Vrabel once said that one should protect the family that they have built

It was back in 2025 when Dianna Russini sat for an interview with Mike Vrabel. The interview has been published on the Patriots blogs. In the interview, Dianna and Mike spoke about a whole lot of things, and the former NFL reporter asked him about his point of view on being a coach, and how it feels when people think the team is generally on good terms if he's beside them. To this, Mike mentioned that he had said this several times that he is adamant that they wouldn't lose, but it's also true that they would have to embrace the losing part as well.

He kept the professional tone strong and answered the question from Dianna by stating that the expectations of people or the predictions they make generally come from the fact that people want them to compete. He also added that it's also the fact that the players are making their own identity, by any means. Giving an example, he added that if someone builds a family or home, it's their duty to protect it.

While this statement was mainly due to a professional response, it's grabbing attention now, as in recent times, it is seemingly happening that the entire controversy is taking a toll on Dianna and Mike's respective families. An excerpt from his statement could be read as:

"And so whatever the predictions are or the expectations, the expectations are that we compete, that we try to be good enough to take advantage of bad football, that we’re not beating ourselves, that there is a rhythm to what we’re doing, that there’s a flow to what we do, and that the players, again, they’re the ones that establish the identity. I can talk about it until I’m blue in the face. They are the ones that – it’s their identity. And hopefully, once you build something, you protect it because it’s yours. You build a home, you protect it, you build a family, you protect it. And that’s what we talk about.”

Mike Vrabel revealed his son's birthday surprise to him

In the same interview, Mike Vrabel also spoke about getting a birthday surprise from his son. He revealed to Dianna that on his then-birthday (50th), his son, Carter, got on the flight from Nashville at 6:00 in the morning and then as soon as he walked out of the meeting room, his son smashed his face with whipped cream.

Mike Vrabel and Dianna's photos from 2020 were something that made the controversy even more intense. In the photo, Mike was seen kissing Dianna. Dianna was not married back then and was six months away from doing the same, while in the photos, Mike was seen wearing his wedding ring. Another photo from 2024 also went viral, where the duo was seen at a casino and sharing a good time. All these photos instantly intensified the buzz around Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini.
