 It is often said and depicted in films that step-mothers don’t get along with their step-daughters, but Bollywood celebrities and their real-life relationships have proven it wrong. And one such example is of Dia Mirza and her step-daughter, Samaira Rekhi, who is the daughter of Vaibhav Rekhi from his first marriage with Sunaina Rekhi. The gorgeous actress had even taken Samaira on her honeymoon to the Maldives with her businessman-husband, Vaibhav Rekhi, and had shared amazing pictures from there.

However, now that Dia Mirza has entered a new phase in her life, as she had embraced motherhood for the first time post the birth of her son, Avyaan Azaad Rekhi. The new mommy keeps on sharing adorable glimpses of her tiny tot, and we are in love with them. Most of all, we are in awe of the cutest mother-daughter duo, who are setting new trends every day. Now, the actress opened up about the bond that her two kids share with each other.

In a conversation with Pinkvilla, the Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein actress shared that both her kids, Samaira and Avyaan, share a great bond. She also opened up about how her daughter, Samaira, has been fulfilling the role of a big sister pretty well. Talking about the same, Dia said:

“Children are truly the best teachers for adults as they bring with them a totally pure world view. Avyaan has taught me mindfulness, joy and resilience and just one smile from him can melt all my cares away. I feel even more responsible as a professional now because I want to create a better world for him to grow up in, with my voice and my work. Samaira is such a lovely big sister and I learn a lot from her refreshing worldview as well.”

Further in the conversation, Dia also admitted that when she had resumed working, she missed her son, Avyaan, on the sets. Sharing that she tries her best to strike a balance between personal and professional life, the actress added:

"I really miss Avyaan when I am at work but I am trying my best to do justice to my roles as a mom, a wife, a daughter and a working professional who is passionate about what she does."

When Dia had announced her baby’s birth, she had shared that her little one was yet to meet his elder sister as he was in the NICU. She had written:

"As we watch this tiny being, this Zen master in awe and wonder, we learn from him, in all humility, the true meaning of trusting the universe and of parenthood. And to not be afraid, and so we humbly take the lead from his resilience and courage. We do not have enough words to thank all those who continue to help us live this story of hope and faith and create a safe, healing, nurturing space for Avyaan and I. He will be home soon and his elder sister Samaira and grandparents are waiting to hold him in their arms."

When Dia Mirza had walked down the aisle to start her married life with Vaibhav Rekhi, it was her step-daughter, Samaira, who had led her path. Dia had looked royal in her red Banarasi saree by Raw Mango with a choker set, jhumki, maang teeka, green Maharashtrian bangles and gajra. It was Samaira, who was leading her towards the mandap, holding a “Papa’s Girls” placard, establishing the fact that they share a great bond.
